What synth are they using for these progressive house tracks?

How to do this, that and the other. Share, learn, teach. How did X do that? How can I sound like Y?

I'd say Sylenth.

I thought it might be Sylenth,
Do you know which soundset/patch they are using?
I have the Adam Van Baker soundset and there are 2 patches in there that sound almost alike, but it doesnt sound exactly the same

Well, I know for a fact that THIS guy (one of my heroes) took some of Lennard's Sylenth1 factory presets and tweaked them to his own liking in quite a few of his tracks. I'm pretty sure that happens a lot.

Yeah,
I'll try tweaking the sounds more...

not every sound is a preset from a synth, alot of people create their own sounds you know......
Sound Engineer / Musician / Producer......but I'm always learning.

Load Sylenth and load LD Contact (1st factory bank, 4th page). This is a very good starting point for all of these sounds. Play around with that patch and replace the LFO controlling the filter with an envelope and tweak from there. Here are some tips after a quick listen:

For the Dominic Gertz link: Pretty much the stock LD Contact patch with some highs boosted and mids cut a little. Filter at 12db.
Jonas Steur: Reduce the voices a bit and narrow the stereo spread and apply the decimate distortion. Tweak the filter and volume envelops accordingly. Also it seems there is some resonance on the filter.
ATB: Sounds like a square is mixed in. Try replacing on osc with a square at 0 or -1 octave.
The Zoo Brazil link is a little bit trickier. I'd start off with a clean patch and start off with a 2 square oscs - one at -1 octave; 2-3 voices, detuned a little and work my way up from there. Keep in mind that most of that sound is coming from the reverb.

Thanks,
The "LD Contact" patch sounds perfect,
But is there a way to turn off the arpeggiator/delay?
Ive tried turning it off in the center LCD panel on Sylenth but it doesnt work,
Ive even tried lowering the decay on the Amp envelope, and it doesnt sound right,
and I cant find the settings anywhere

thats because the LFO's control the filter cutoff in that patch;

- center the amounts (ctrl+click)or just turn down the gain of LFO2
- raise the filter (Filter A)
- adjust the AMPenvA (0 attack, short decay, no sustain)
- go to MODenvA at the bottom and do +- the same settings as the ampenv
- route it to cutoff A

now you're free to play whatever sequence you like :D
