Windows VST is what I need here, for Acid Pro and Reaper, so it's all good for me!

I just got ValhallaShimmer running on my Windows XP machine, to my own shock and surprise. I started the port this morning, and was having some compiler issues, but it looks like I've solved them. It still needs some optimization work - I want to use the Intel IPP, and I haven't put that code in yet. Still, it is running, it isn't crashing, and it sounds great.
So it looks like the initial release will be both Windows and OSX. VST and Audio Units for sure, and most likely Mac RTAS. There are a few Windows RTAS issues I need to work out, so the Windows RTAS may be delayed, but it seems important to get the Windows VST out ASAP.
More details as they emerge. Thanks to everyone for your kind words in this thread.

well, if you ever feel like eliciting the lowpass from the frequency shifter in a very thorough, plodding fashion, i'll be waiting with my jaws open wide :p i wish i could present an attitude that was more than extricative in this matter..

Look up "hilbert" in Csound. I put the source code in there in 1999, with a pretty detailed explanation. If you want to start a thread in the DSP section on KVR, I'll explain more there.xoxos wrote:well, if you ever feel like eliciting the lowpass from the frequency shifter in a very thorough, plodding fashion, i'll be waiting with my jaws open wide :p i wish i could present an attitude that was more than extricative in this matter..
A bit of a walk down memory lane for me: It was early fall 1999 that I first developed my own reverb algorithms in Csound. Before that, I had simply ported the Puckette algorithm to Csound. My original work involved developing a feedback delay network reverb that had lots of random modulation. The algorithm was able to get really long and floaty decays.
Flash forward 11 years, and I'm about to release my first commercial plugin, that is focused on getting really long and floaty reverbs. I'm using a much more refined algorithm, with a higher echo density and less coloration than my early work, but the same kind of spacey stuff I was shooting for in 1999. I guess I'm pretty consistent. Or obsessed. I just love this stuff.

i did spend some time picking through csound trying to suss it, didn't get far. ah well, wrong thread, and there's not much joy in being a dependant.
i haven't checked out eos. it's always nice to see someone fill a niche in popular expectations.. (eg. this effect being popularised by a certain guitar hero/villain) it makes people happy. best wishes for the release!

I can tell already that "this plugin" might be more up my alley than Eos, which I will then sell after purchasing this "this plugin".
