What about a "toy xylophone"? It's the only (free) child-related VST I've been able to find. Just in case, I'm thinking of a kazoo as well, but that would probably play a minor role...

As a child, a friend of mind had a Casio CS-101. That thing was a total toy!
Also sampled somewhere in the Kontakt library, I think

(Although the S&S suggestion is the cheesiest of the bunch, natch)

Yes,

A toy xylophone is ok, as well as any other "toy" instrument.

Oh, I have another idea I wanted to ask about - Tonehammer released a free bank of field recordings of ice and snow cut up to work like drum samples. What kid in the appropriate climates hasn't played with snow and ice?

I can think of one I've not seen (or heard) since I was a child myself.

"A humming spinning top." That was indeed a hit ! A fascinating/mysterious sound !

I remember mine 'cose my memory goes back to the age of 2/3 years.

www.freesound.org is indeed THE site to find that and all kind of special stuff of very high quality !

That earlier mentioned free Precisionsound toy-set is also great and that's why I was a bit surprised rifftrax couldn't find a satisfying toy-piano; I'll probably use one of them.

Thing that sucks is I know I had a really really good one on another hard drive of mine where I had like, zillions of sweet soundfont files. Now I can't find where it is

I haven't had enough time to try to research everything online yet...
