Mind if I synthesize a few?
Didn't see this answered.
Funny, neither did I

Yes, I think I would mind.

BTW, there is one instrument out there that nobody's mentioned yet, and I'm not gonna say what it is. HAHa

I have a really fast computer, some good mics, vintage musical instruments, and lots of fancy software. Just need some talent

What about a "toy xylophone"? It's the only (free) child-related VST I've been able to find. Just in case, I'm thinking of a kazoo as well, but that would probably play a minor role...

As a child, a friend of mind had a Casio CS-101. That thing was a total toy!
Also sampled somewhere in the Kontakt library, I think :-)

(Although the S&S suggestion is the cheesiest of the bunch, natch)
Apparently, there are some legal, mostly non-controverisal subjects you can't talk about on KVR, or even mention in your sig. Unfortunately, the guidelines don't actually talk about them, so the only way to find out is trial and error.

Yes,

A toy xylophone is ok, as well as any other "toy" instrument.

I think will choose this one if it's ok,
like the sound.
A kazoo is also available, some egg-shakers - the 8 notes harmonica is missed

Oh, I have another idea I wanted to ask about - Tonehammer released a free bank of field recordings of ice and snow cut up to work like drum samples. What kid in the appropriate climates hasn't played with snow and ice?

That's not even cheese, that's velveeta

Post

Hello there! I was wondering if maybe we could even use mariopaint composer. Actually it's a kid toy.

PS.:Thanks everyone who posted sound samples!

I started make this sketch, can you tell me what you think about?

Please tag your entries. Please tag your entries. Please tag your entries.

And when you do, please bear in mind this from the submission thread (some didn't last month):
- IF you are going to tag your mp3, the artist name is to be the same as your KVR name, and the title tag is to be the name of your tune(help us out, okay? it's easier to sift through labelled entries)

I can think of one I've not seen (or heard) since I was a child myself.

A humming spinning top.
It wasn't me! (well, actually, it probably was) - apparently no longer an 'elderly', now a 'senior'! Is that promotion?

"A humming spinning top." That was indeed a hit ! A fascinating/mysterious sound !
I remember mine 'cose my memory goes back to the age of 2/3 years.

www.freesound.org is indeed THE site to find that and all kind of special stuff of very high quality ! :D
That earlier mentioned free Precisionsound toy-set is also great and that's why I was a bit surprised rifftrax couldn't find a satisfying toy-piano; I'll probably use one of them. 8)

Cheers,

Thing that sucks is I know I had a really really good one on another hard drive of mine where I had like, zillions of sweet soundfont files. Now I can't find where it is :(

I haven't had enough time to try to research everything online yet...
