OK, Here we go ... Time to vote on our first ever Two-Synth-Challenge

See thread http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... sc&start=0

Please listen to all the tracks before casting a vote ... I know it takes a while, but its the only fair way to do things ... Criteria for your voting decision is up to you, but I ask that you take at least some account of the range, nature, use of the synth's sounds in your decisions.

So here's how!

Visit the NA2SC1 page on the dedicated One Synth Challenge site!
http://sites.google.com/site/kvrosc/na2sc-1

Here you can download/listen to individual tracks as you wish, or download the whole collection as a zip file, access a playlist, and keep track of the voting.

You can also find links to tracks, results and all relevant info pertaining to all previous comps.

Big thanks to V'ger for setting it up this excellent resource, and all the hard work in gathering all the links and info together.

How to vote .....

Votes will be allocated in blocks of 5,3,2 and 1 points. ie 5 points for your top track, 3 for second etc.

You should allocate your votes, in a single post, in this thread ... something like this ....
Track zxy - 5
Track xyq - 3
Track zyx - 2
Track yzx - 1

Reviews, however brief, are always welcome, but even if you can only find the time to add a short comment, then please do! ...it keeps the thread alive, and encourages others to listen/vote. I will do a review when I can grab a bit of time to do the job justice.

**Closing date for votes will be Sun 10th October**

That's a substantial voting period, but set to avoid coinciding with the submission and voting deadlines of other comps.

Enjoy those tracks :)

Cheers Tattie. :)

That sure is a long voting time though..

I understood it to be a total of 11 points which can be split 5 + 3 + 2 + 1 so that your first choice gets 5 points, second choice 3 points, etc. You presumably don't have to allocate all or any of the other points if you do not wish to. Of course I may be wrong too.... :D

Red peppers in dynamite sauce? I must have been out of my mind!

Yeah, because we only have 9 tracks, the flexi vote system doesn't really win over simplicity.

So it's a strict 5,3,2,1 system.

You dont have to allocate all your votes, but I wonder who would really listen to all the tracks and want to give points to less than 4 tracks? :?

Personally, I will feel bad leaving 4 ( plus my own of course ) without at least a point ... so to leave out more would be a no-no! :)

i guess it's cos most were last minute efforts to meet the deadline....but frankly after a first skidpped listen i have no motivation to give them a second listen..
Lol, that's hard.. 8)

But headsup to all that SoundCloud automatically downsamples to 128kbs 44khz for use in the player which didn't do my 196/48 track any favors with its hot levels. The downloadable version is of course the original format.

anwyay i did give the tracks a second listen...and they not so bad.
from a "synth skills" point of view tattie's pretty impressive...yeager track is a good analog 80s peace....and bzur is decent noisemaker track too(i wonder if he was awayre next osc is Noisemaker)....4th place is a tie between u and mulperi

1) tattie (4 points)(composition is a mess but good impressive synth work)
2)yeager good demo for substance (3 points)
3) bzur decent demo for noisemaker ...but i bet better efforts will be heard in the noisemaker challenge( 2points)
4)vger (1 point)and mulperi(1 point)

I really enjoyed these tracks, but have got to give another listen before voting.

I was going to do something with Famisynth/Medusa, but during August ended up playing a lot of video games instead. ay yai yai

Hehe, don't blame me for your post.. ;)

But the voting should be 5-3-2-1 only, no allocation points this time.

5 to Tattiemannie(twoheads...) (I Like the crazyness o f some parts and the creativity of other... there are cool ideas in this one)

3 to Wrong choice by Yeager (I like the arpeggio and the fusion of the different sounds... it give a good feeling, some nice melodies too ... 80ies)

2 to Mulperi's come to me (very nice mood... cool sounds... like yeager's one... some 80iesmelodies I've heard in it)

1 to Bzur with Not so slow (very intriguing sounds... I don't know what genre can be, but I liked it)

As I'll be submitting a track for the next one (maybe) I thought I'd investigate the competition, as it were :D will get my votes in in a day or two, .

Post

Cool, welcome to the challenge.

I'll be voting within the next coupla days too, got the tunes loaded on the phone but want to run them a fair few times as usual.

About the voting change: Almost too few votes to give out this time with only 4 to give to, 5 would maybe have been better. But easier with the fixed points.

Post

tattiemannie: Two Heads One Mind 5
bzur: Not So Slow 3
Major Bloodnok: Mesmer Schmesmer 2
Mulperi: Come To Me 1
