I did the beginning of this song using a golf ball bouncing on a desk and applying some pitch shifting plus filters.

Thanks, another idea would be to record a flushing toilet with some FX. :D

Record noises you can make with items you find in your kitchen

done that many times lol
what about a complete stranger's kitchen, unannounced, late at night

then convince the booking sergeant to allow you to keep your handheld digital recorder in the holding cell

@ alex - Great stuff!
Thank you for posting it here - a wonderful unusual clip. :)
And if anyone else wants to post their unusual/original musical ideas on this thread - please do!
@ spaceman - good luck with the pitch training, sounds like a great plan.

Make a mechanical rhythm machine. It's not that hard to make something similar to a music box with bicycle parts and percussion instruments.
Spectrasonics did this already, then sampled the hell out of it...

My suggestion, and it's a simple one; render your track to audio, then copy the render to 10 different tracks. Wind down the volume on 9 of them, then apply choice FX to the back 9. Then, using crossfades, bring the back 9 in and out under your main audio track.
Do that a lot, works a treat for cinematic, soundscape, and ambient music! :hihi: :hihi:
