Mediabay + Cubase 5.5 = WTF?

Hey guys. I have a strange problem: after upgrading to Cubase 5.5, I seem to have lost most of my content on MediaBay. I tried rescanning, adding & removing drives, trashing my preferences/database, etc, but MediaBay seems to be incapable of showing any of my custom loops, and only shows 2 files under VST Sound/Drum&Perc/Beats. There should be hundreds! Anybody know what's going on?

Screencaps:

Only 2 loops. Really? :?

"LOOPS" is totally blank.

Hey, but at least you sound better than other DAWs, right?

Brent :hihi:
My host is better than your host

Oh that goes without saying (in my sig).

So Brent, in your brief stint with Cubase, did you get familiar with MediaBay? ;)

This happened to me once with a previous upgrade (but not with 5.5). It turns out that I just never gave Cubase a chance to fully re-populate. Once I left it alone for a bit (couple of hours as I recall), that seemed to have done the trick.

YMMV of course.

So many plugins, so little time...

Really? Huhn. I swear I've given it time...I'll leave it open overnight and see what happens, thanks!

Yeah silly,it's like wine. It isn't 100% the day you buy it but it gets better and better as it matures.

Funny, I'd say it's getting funky with age...

Cubase. Well, Mediabay, specifically. I think it's been corked. :D

Maybe this is why people are noticing audio differences between DAWs, they arnt allowing the DAW to breathe for a few hours before use :-)

If DAWs are like wine, I wish Cubase was a little bit more seedless.
My music is a fusion of jazz and funk. It's called "Junk"

Man, you guys can really milk a metaphor...

Happened exactly the same here after Cubase 5.5 update. Here is what I did (I'm under XP Pro) :

1) In the following location :
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Steinberg\Cubase 5
remove the following files (I transferred them in another location, just in case) :
mediabay3.db
scannedFolders3.bin

2) Start Cubase and go into Medaibay : a whole scan is immediatly starting. Just have to wait until the whole process is achieved.
3) Done ! All the valid presets are again in the database.

If you are working with Vista or 7, the files are somewhere else, but I guess that doing the same thing will lead to the same results. Hope this will help.
AMD R7 3700X/Asus Prime X470-Pro/32Gb/W10Pro(64)/RME Fireface UCX+ADA8200
Cubase Pro 10.5.20/EmulatorX3 and several other VSTis
VMK-188+/Akai MPD32/Akai ME-30P/05-RW,D-110,TX-802/pre MIDI stuff...
