I have been using Mixcraft 4 for well over a year. To this point, I have used it specifically for VSTi hosting for the purpose of live performance. It has a slew of very useful instrument sounds and 'Classic' effects. But, I also load ten third party VSTi's. I run it on a 1.73 Pentium dual core with 3GB ram and Windows Vista 32bit. Spent a long time weeding out VSTi's which performed poorly, for one reason or another. Mixcraft crashed a handful of times in some of the earlier 4.x versions. But it has not crashed at all with their final build 118 of ver 4.5. I have found Mixcraft to have a very straightforward and intuitive interface. There is a ton of bang for your buck with this DAW.

As far as Mixcraft goes, until they add VSTi multi-out support, it will not be taken seriously by a lot of folks who use plugs like EZDrummer, Kontakt, Omnisphere, etc... Running four instances of Mixcraft (since it only provides stereo outs) just to accomodate all eight outputs from EZDrummer is insane nowadays -- especially when every other (major) DAW on the planet offers multi-out support.
That said, I've no doubt they'll add this feature in the next major update since they've said as much on their forum.
