are you getting the pcb layout thing to work under vista?
i get 'no open document' or something; keeps repeating.

i can't get it to install here either....so i uniextracted it, and THAT worked perfect....i'll up it if ya needs it

That has nothing to do with VST .dll's
(these are programs that may contain bad code in anyway. A vst .dll may delete you plugins directory when opened in your host, for example)

The new Windows exploit about dll's is when you open a data file (like document or excel sheet) from an usb stick or a network drive, Windows might search for a necessary programs dll not in the program folder but the working/data-folder.
