After importing a bank into cubase all the preset names remain ""noname" except for the 1st preset. They are loaded and can be switched through, but their names are all set to default in the cubase preset switcher:

This is the screenshot after loading the default bank in FXB format from the cubase "import FXP/FXB" option. The same thing happens when loading the bank from Poizone itelf.

Why is this a problem, you might ask, since you can browse presets from Poizone itself?

Many of us are using the cumase media/sound library which enables a unified and categorized interace for all VST's and presets for them. This is an amazing workflow enhancement similar to NI Kore's sound browser. To use this with Poizone, as it's used with all other VSTi's, one needs to be able to import all the presets, and since they all have the same name, it's pretty much impossible ATM.

Any help is appreciated.

this is what happens when a plugin doesn't support the full FXB/FXP way of working. i think all of maxx clasters plugins have switched over officially to the image line downloader way of working. they report their current preset to the host, but dont populate the bank list - you have to use the imageline patch picker for that.

unfortunately i think you're out of luck here. it's a shame too, i quite like the simplicity of the FXP/FXB way of working and really dislike it when a developer implements their own custom way without at least making it backwards compatible with the VST standard.

the only solution i can think of (and it's unfortunate one) is you'd have to go through each of those presets through the image line native picker, export every one to fxp format (if it even works who knows since it's a custom preset implemetnation), then use a tool like minihost or cantabile to load up all those separate fxp files and save them into an fxb bank.

before wasting your time trying this try a few presets only then use the cubase tool to import the bank you make this way (dont use cubase here myself since the old versions and so dont know how mediabay works exactly so cant even guarantee this would even work at all), then test it.

if it works with 3 or 4 presets, it will work with an entire bank.

hope that helps.

Couldn't agree more. It's like everybody's pointlessly trying to reinvent the wheel, when we already have a great standardized format.

Thanks for the detailed reply. I guess I'll skip importing Poizone then. It's a shame, as ever since I started using cubase sound browser, the plugins that aren't in there, never get used.

yeah it's a total bummer. i feel your pain man. maybe ask the guys at IL to export the patches to FXP for the factory ones? i'm sure it wouldn't be that difficult to export them in a batch from their picker? reflex could probably have it done in a few minutes :)

I tried this with the demo, in Ableton Live and it's the same. Worse yet, I can't even switch from inside, I have to open the browser dialog and point to each patch individually.

Bummer, since I really liked it's sound. Guess I won't be buying this one...
