I can't think if any 6/4 pieces, but Dream Theater's "The Count of Tuscany"--at 3:56, the song is in 9/4 for three bars, then two bars of 4/4. Maybe that can give you some ideas of how to switch between time signatures.

Beatles: All You Need Is Love
Intro is 4/4
Verse is mostly in 7/4 (2nd last bar of the verses are 8/4)
Chorus is mostly in 8/4
...but the last bar of each chorus is 6/4 (beat 1 of the last bar of the choruses start at 1:17, 1:51, 2:25, and 2:42)
And yet it all sounds completely intuitive!

all blues by miles davis is in 6/4, and footprints by wayne shorter sort of vascillates (depends on the performance) between 6/4 and 4/4.
anything by bartok would help for odd shifting time sigs, of course.

Very famous jazz piece "Take 5" is, predictably, in 5/4.
art is never finished, it is abandoned.
