Seriously, God himself could come down here and tell everybody here that FL Studio "doesn't have a f**king sound" and people would just say it's his opinion. This is ridiculous.

Besides all the hurf-blurf about "dontneedno24bitsimpro".

The fact that the developer of FL is posting in this thread, correcting misconceptions and basically supporting his product speaks volumes. If I was in the market to buy a new sequencer, I would consider FL on this basis alone.

It's not a problem, it simply sounds different because interpolation is working and making it sound like it is supposed to sound naturally without the artifacts that are produced when resampling takes place.

Instead you prefer aliasing - good for you, but i think you should see a doctor about that.

There's nothing to "defend" as far as how it sounds - rather i think you should have to defend your own perverse attraction to aliasing artifacts of resampling.

Explain yourself and your unnatural and disgusting taste!

P.S: I'd like to add that based on your sick preferences you may also enjoy the results produced by repeated extreme mp3 compression, as well as bursts of white noise.

This (FL audio engine quality) is my favorite discussion! At one time (like 2005) I thought it was sad, now I'm really amused by it.

No it does not muffle the sound.
It might only be, that you get aliasing while playback, if your playback-interpolation-settings are not high enough.
If you want that sound in your final rendering, just use the same (lower quality) option for rendering.

I think the original poster might have a point. When I play pianissimo in stand alone mode it has more sparkle/brilliance than when I run it in vst mode in FL Studio. Not a huge problem. But it is noticable.

Ten bucks on it's the levels are different and that's the difference you hear.

No, the levels are the same. I await my ten bucks in the mail. As to sparkle, should I say the luminosity is somewhat degraded. Yes, I believe I would like to say so, if I may. I'm not knocking Fl. I use it and I love it, will not change. But I think I have pretty good ears, and a certain lack of sheen, ahem, luminosity, is lacking, I have observed, when running the abovementioned app.
