Just downloaded the free version. Looks cool. Here is the link:

probably the best/polite policy to start this in another thread :)
Done, sorry. I thought this was an open discussion forum. It is my understanding that the iRig will work with any amp app. Is that correct?
It's an open discussion forum, but it looks a bit conspicuous when you post in this thread, start another, and have less than 5 posts.

It's almost as if you work for the competitor. :D

But if that's the case, just be open about it and I really am curious about the question(s) I asked. Thanks!

I did buy the Peavey app, and while I think it's pretty good, especially for $20, it's a bit too heavy on the Peavey models. Obviously that's to be expected, however with the exception of the 6505 I'm not really that psyched about the rest. I mean, come on; a ValveKing model? It's a cheap Chinese tube amp that sounds mediocre at best.

The models that are not Peavey-related are okay, but don't feel quite as dynamic as the Amplitube models, IMO.

Thanks. We've tried it to, to be sure. However, I was more interested in what may have led them to use app developers known for things other than apps that produce audio when there should still be Revalver devs on hand at Peavey? I think that's a fair question. I'm sure there's a fair answer. To be fair, we had 11 apps that produced audio out in the App Store before this and obviously knew a little something about gear modeling so it was a natural choice to keep it in-house. I wouldn't mind if they preferred to answer privately (or not at all), but just curious.

Peter, i bought the peavey, but i still love Amplitube
(i admit i'm a gear/app addict! :hihi: )
Are there any more bits planned for the app, a couple more amps would be nice!
(most the time i'm still using AT3 tho-unbeatable  )

Thanks, and yes there's some exciting stuff coming. :)

Well, to be honest Peter I'm glad they didn't use the Revalver devs, as I really didn't like Revalver at all. While it no doubt gets a lot of credit from many people, I couldn't stand it. This coming from someone who used to own a JSX. While I didn't ultimately gel with the JSX, I did have it long enough to compare it side by side with the Revalver version of the JSX, and it sounded NOTHING alike. I don't get the love for it, honestly. I prefer Amplitube, POD Farm, and even Guitar Rig 4 over it.

i did really like the 30w peavey amp they modelled in revalver when i tried the demo
but that was about all..
but now i have similar (and much more in AT3!)
be nice to have a little valve model in the app! (i think i asked before :) )

I had seen that, thank you for posting it. We got to test this too, and it works nicely.

and to quell the rumors that a now-banned member tried to spread, the iRig and AmpliTube for iPhone work just as well with the new iPod Touch 4th Generation that was just released as with the previous devices.

We had to really verify this since we were accused of saying otherwise, but the input/output combined jack spec did not change at all and the iOS software current rev that runs on the devices is also exactly the same. So, you can imagine we were pretty sure there would be no problem unless it was a complete fluke.

With those devices that rely on the audio through the dock connector, however, there have been some ripples due to changes in spec. Thankfully that didn't affect iRig but sympathy to those accessories affected.

We've got some changes, updates, etc coming down the pike soon so bear with us and be prepared for some really good stuff. We listened to users, we listened to our own perfectionist tendencies, and came up with some really good stuff.

Doh! Just found that little piece of paper that came with the iRig.

Still curious.... any reason why 1/8" adaptors cause it to feedback?

This is definitely the first thing on my list of "fun" apps when I go iphone in January. So cool!

There's just more opportunity for crosstalk and feedback with anything stereo-stereo (even if split to two stereo, but that's less common) so splitting to dual mono prevents much of that crosstalk and feedback.

Oh, and I should probably point out that there's an update with better DSP (some derived from AmpliTube 3), preset naming, recording and reamping, and more for the iPhone version of the AmpliTube app: http://www.amplitube.com/iphone
