i'm having a host tempo to outboard gear problem and was gonna try a different clock source - clocker - but when i open it in plogue's bidule i get no midi output port. i do however, get stereo i/o which makes about zero sense, unless i'm seriously misunderstanding something. i mean, it's just supposed to generate midi clock which can be routed to a hardware midi output, correct?
os: windows xp
host: bidule

Clocker doesn't create a MIDI output that Bidule will see - it sends MIDI directly to a hardware MIDI port.

er...not sure what i'm doing wrong, but clocker running inside bidule (use host tempo "off") generates nothing that my midi interface sees. it was my understanding that in order to patch anything to a hardware output (be it audio or midi) it would need to be recognized as such in bidule. sorry, this presupposes a little knowledge about bidule...
furthermore, if clocker simply generates midiclock why the audio i/o?

Clocker patches directly to a hardware output - the same list of hardware outputs that Bidule sees, is what Clocker sees. Bidule won't see an extra output from Clocker.
The audio i/o is so that most DAWs that don't deal with MIDI plug-ins can still use Clocker.
