Introduction:
=============

Kiesel Free Delay 1 is the delay effect from Helga as an individual
plugin. The delay time can be synchonized to MIDI tempo as well as
tuned by MIDI note information.

Installation:
=============

Copy the enclosed "Kiesel Free Delay.dll" file to your hosts VstPlugins
folder.

Operation:
==========

This plugin works both as an insert and as a send effect. Delay times
are set in three different modes:

Direct Mode (Smoothed):
-----------------------

Here, the Rate knob controls the delay time directly and changes are smoothed.

Tempo Sync Mode (2/3, 1/1, 3/2):
--------------------------------
The Rate knob selects the note length to synchronize to and Mode selects the
note modification:
2/3 : triplet
1/1 : normal
3/2 : dotted

MIDI Note Mode:
---------------

The delay time is tuned to the ETS frequency of the incoming MIDI note data
and the Rate knob selects fine tuning +/- 50 cents.

The plugin does not support transposing or pitchbend.

Feedback:
---------

Feedback can be set to +/- 100% with the feedback knob and Dampen knob
controls the amount of low-pass filtering to apply to it. The delay lines

Modulation:
-----------

The delay time can be modulated with a sinusoid. The rate is adjusted with
the Mod Rate knob and the amount is adjusted with the Mod Depth knob.

The modulation waveforms for the left and right channels can be offset in
phase with the Mod Phase knob.

Output:
-------

The mix of the uneffected signal and the delayed signal can be adjusted with
the Mix knob.

Known Issues:
=============

1. The delay lines have a saturation stage so high volume inputs will distort.
2. There is no MIDI CC capability.
3. MIDI Pitchbend is not supported
4. 5/4 sync mode is missing.
5. With high Feedback settings and high Dampen settings the Delay will decay
into a DC offset.
6. The plugin has not been tested on all platforms. Tested platforms include:
Cubase VST 5.1 on Intel P IV, Intel P III, Intel P II, Windows 2000
Cubase SX 1.0.5 on Intel P IV, Intel P III, Windows 2000, Windows XP
Fruityloops 4 on Intel P IV, Windows 2000
