Bump !
Well at present visiting IK site gives no information on 64 bit, still no forum there either. Just a bad case of I-rigitus which is great if you have an iphone or ipad, which I dont.
So if your about Peter, please is there any news on this issue yet as the Jbridge situation with Cubase 5.5.1 is not as good as it was with 5.1.1
Is there a road map, so I/we can sensibly plan for the future.

I can't believe I started this thread in Dec 09 and apparently nothing has happened since then. I have actually stopped using my IKM plugins. Looks like a lot of $$ went down the drain...?!

IK has made their position very clear on this and it's not happening anytime soon. What would be nice is if we could not turn this into another "bash x64" thread especially since it's just the resurrection of an old thread.

People are very uninformed on what it means to be "x64" and usually these things get QUITE heated (mods eye this please)

Hi
I really don't wont to stir up a storm, but when I google "IK multimedia 64 bit" this thread is still the top entry and there has been no comment from anyone connected to IK since Peters post last December and I had hoped that there maybe some new news on the subject.

If I am wrong and there is a post somewhere else please post the link.

As sample libraries for some vsti's are getting larger it seems that more and more people are running out of memory even when running Win 7 64 bit with cubase 32 bit with 4 Gb of memory and are therefore moving across to 64 bit host with 8 Gb or above.

Na, you're ok :) Peter has made some more recent comments about it here

Sorry you'll have to dig as I don't remember the exact pages.

The official word seems to be that they are not going to have anything soon. I think some of us are a bit frustrated about it. My comments were mostly about the misinformation about what x64 means so don't take my posts too seriously (you obviously know what is meant by x64 :) )

Thanks Hibbidy.
It's on page nine,
I have learnt that you need to have a pretty good idea of what your talking about through Cubase.net, got shot down in flames a few times myself :hihi:.
Still not the answer I was looking for, obviously not Peters fault, but very disappointing especially for a company that is good in so many ways.

I have been using Kontakt player with Steve Slate Drums, It's native 64 bit and free (not Steve Slate Drums though) and very happy with it. If SampleTank had been ported to 64 bit I would never have tried it, so every cloud has a silver lining.

Cubase.not? Sorry, had to give them up a long time ago :hihi:

Yeah you're right it's disappointing. So nice to have native x64

The NuSofting dev said he would update some of his plugs to x64 after merely asking him (he probably had already thought about it some) - can't get that with large co's (usually anyway). He makes some awesome stuff too, like Modelonia.
Wordsong.info - because something GOOD is on the way!

Here is the list kvr's database comes up with for x64/win. It's fairly large and there are free ones too. The only reason I'm bringing that up is in the short time I've been x64 many devs have gone ahead and done x64 and afaik, they have all been free updates.

Considering that the computing world is inevitably headed toward a 64-bit horizon (as surely as the Sun rises in the East and sets in the West :hihi:), and that this development is a good thing without question -- any company which NOW drags its @$$ on transitioning software to this new environment deserves a good tongue-lashing!!! :x

Dawn hasn't just broken -- it's getting ready to have lunch!!!!! ;)

From the sales IK have been having (I got in on the sampletank one)
It "LOOKS" pretty obvious from the outside they they are either on their last legs or the IOS side of things is their main thrust now
I would have assumed that the sales where to get more customers on board for a huge round of paid updates ST3 and so on
But as has been stated by IK this is not the case and ST3 is a long way away

I would be happy with ST as is if they do go under but i certainly wouldn't invest any real money in them as they currently stand

I remember it being said that it wasnt just around the corner, I got the impression it could be released before the end of this year or early next year. It will be interesting to see what they do with ST3, if its a radical update with big additional features or more of an upgrade and refinement of whats already there with extra bundled content.
