While I was there I saw this,

Which really shows where their focus is at present. The Mobile market and Iphone/Ipad, so after that there is Android and Win Mobile 7 ? Not sure of the date of interview though.
It's interesting because yesterday I read a report about how a group of Companies were trying to develop Apps that would work on any mobile Os by running on their own mini Os like a bridge, the idea being that developers would not have to write 3 or more versions of an app to cover most of the mobile market, which reaaly makes sense and shows the dust has not settled in the mobile market yet.
Where as 64 bit is here, in the interview it does not even get a mention though multi-threading and improvements in cpu processing power do, in early 2007 when I had Vista 64 and Cubase 4 x64 was released as a download I had an informal conversation about the future of 64 bit with The Uk IK tech and reasonably concluded that probably AT3 would be 64 bit and that AT2 might even be ported towards the end of it's life as 32 bit was doomed like 16 bit before it, but doubted whether anything would happen for a couple of years.
We are now way past early 2009.
So come on IK wake up and smell the coffee, I know new customers are good, but don't forget your previous customers needs because bridging 32 bit plugins is a pain in the bum, especially with cubase. Trains left the station and if you run you might just get on board in time
When moving to native 64 bit, AT3 is just a passenger being dragged along by more memory intensive passengers, but it is a passenger I don't want to loose, same goes for T-racks and SampleTank, CSR I fear is doomed to 32 bit graveyard.
I remember eons ago a friend of mine who worked with photos bought a 16 bit scanner for £5000 ($7500) and within 2 years it was junk because makers did not write 32bit drivers for it, eventually makers were taken over, so it could be worse.
NAS, I hope your wrong, IK /Sonic Reality/Essounds have always seemed to do very reasonable deals with IK stuff, especially when you add in crossgrade discounts, and they appear to be hiring on their website as well. I am sure I-rig is successful and brings in money. My fear is they are to small to keep all their products up to date as they cast their net futher than they can deal with.
