Does OPX Pro II load OPX Pro presets?
Intel Core2 Quad CPU + 4 GIG RAM

Post

yep :-)

you even can download all former banks with cleaned second part (since banks now have 128 presets) here:
http://www.sonicprojects.ch/opxpro2/userarea.html

You can simply put the folder to the library and then you have all former sounds directly accessible, in an isolated subfolder

Thanks for the alternative audio off demo!

You're welcome :-)
I hope that serves you better

Hi Peter,
I downloaded the audio breaks version of the VFX installer, but
the file I get is from mid August and has the noise burst and
detuning feature. Would you please check on this?
Cheers,
Scott

hi rexlapin
you probably have not chosen "overwrite existing plugins" in the import dialog (bottom line) - since the standard is "leave existing plugins" it's still the same file then (old demo)

simply install again and choose "overwrite existing plugins";
it might be that then once more still the old demo appears, but that's just because it still has been loaded in the ram at startup;

so to finish simply quit vfx (white vfx icon->quit vfx) and restart it again, then the audio break demo will be there finally

Post

Hi Peter,
Thanks for the advice. Actually I had picked that option
but I had not restarted VFX to initialize it. The dropouts
were a much better solution for the demo. The noise bursts
could be annoying, but the detuning was making it impossible
to test any of the pitch related functions with any clarity.
All is good now! :D
Cheers,
Scott

Thanks Scott :-)
It was good that some of you have moped about the demo, sometimes one is too much in the stuff after such a long time of development, and one loses a clear sight of things...

Maybe we'll permanently change the demo to this one by default

Btw, the restart thing is also needed when installing the full version over the demo, since still the demo will appear again right after importing because it's still in the ram (only if OP-X PRO-II is in the only/first VFX bank)

We've just added a new upgrade path, for OP-X Reaktor owners, who can get the VFX Edition now for just $69

This could be an interesting upgrade for those who already own OP-X Reaktor and want to be able to use OP-X PRO-II on their Mac

The item is "OP-X PRO-II VFX Edition upgrade from OP-X Reaktor":
http://www.sonicprojects.ch/opxpro2/purchase.html

We think this should be an attractive price, even though using the synth in VFX of course is less flexible than using it directly in a sequencer; but it works well (some are already using it), installation is dead easy, and audio can be routed to a sequencer track using the free Cycling74 SoundFlower. The apple own IAC driver furthermore can be used to send MIDI from the sequencer to VFX. More infos here:
http://www.sonicprojects.ch/opxpro2/macversion.html

Check it out :-)

However check the demo first to see if it works in your system;
it should on any intel based Mac with OS-X 10.5.x up and X11 installed (if not it can be installed from the OS-X disc)

I was just listening to the audio demos (again) and wondered if that one bank someone else had made is still available, it's sounds were supposed to be just like the original OBX factory presets (?)

Edit: Oops just found it again

:)

Yep :-)
Btw, you also can download ALL the former banks, so including all user banks, library and other OP synth's factory banks cleaned and collected in a folder for easy placement in the library from here:
http://www.sonicprojects.ch/opxpro2/userarea.html

This is also the place where new OP-X PRO-II sounds will be released - a first reload (Reload001) is already available - check it out!

The best sounds of Adam Borset's OB-Xa factory banks btw have found their way into various places of the new library - in the factory library e.g. the "OB Rock Solo" or "OB-Xa Brass Ensemble"

Update:

OP-X PRO-II has been reported to work on Receptor by OP-X PRO-II customer and Receptor user Kevin Looney

Here's his installation guide (user installable):
http://www.sonicprojects.ch/opxpro2/musereceptor.html

Presumably the synth will also be offered as officially supported plugin by Muse Research in the future
