ocmtime,
I must say that you have turned this into an entertaining thread, but I admit to feeling a little sorry for you. You don't realize that everyone is laughing at you, do you?

And even if I did, all that info is still available somewhere on your drive.
TBH, I'm really not gong to be satisfied with anything less than hard proof that the drive in question has been decommissioned or somehow put beyond use. I would probably consider the sworn testimony of some pre-agreed, neutral third party to be acceptable - maybe you could get one of the guys who oversaw the decommissioning of the IRA's weapons?

An idiot on Set Theory:

'probably'?ocmtime wrote:If you post the links for everybody I will probably use the presets.
So, lets' get this clear: if I post the links you will probably use the patches; if not, you won't (probably)?
First of all, I am just a little taken aback that a moral beacon such as yourself should stoop so low as to blackmail(!), but nonetheless, this is a real quandary you've presented me with!
I mean, how am I to live in the knowledge that you are wilfully depriving yourself of probably using my patches? I dare say I might just have difficulty sleeping and then, no doubt enveloped in some dark night of the soul, who knows what I may do?
I shall take the appropriate amount of time to consider your offer.

I should really point out that I dont want the link, and I will refuse to accept it being shared with me in any way. Which is kinda tough on ocmtime, but there you go...hakey wrote:Hmm... yeah, I reckon I can just about live with the guilt

I know that, it's you that's repeatedly missed the obvious sarchastic tone in my posts, and to such a degree that I wonder if there might be some existential reason behind a display of such obtuseness (the kind that would cause someone to have difficulty deducing the mental state of others, or the intent behind their actions etc.). If that is the case, I apologise.ocmtime wrote:hakey there's no blackmail
Genuine advice: You're really not going to change my stance on this matter. About all you can achieve is to make yourself look foolish. Give up whilst you still have some dignity.

Wow...
Having designed some presets myself, I'd like to say a few things: Posting a bank of presets free is a gesture of goodwill by the designer. Although getting a reward wasn't the main reason I posted my banks here on KVR, it is very helpful to get some positive reinforcement from others, because A) it spurs you on in your creative work (everybody likes to be appreciated), and B) it helps you assess your skills and lets you know where you stand as far as appealing to your audience/demographic (so to speak).
Hakey, you have every right to ask for compensation of your choice. I've already downloaded Bank 1, and while I haven't been able to check it out yet, the comments on this post speak volumes. So, I would like to add a heartfelt "Thank you!" not just for the bank itself, but also for the spirit of sharing with others on this site. You're a credit to the community, and I applaud you!
As for those that don't want to be bothered with learning some fundamental social skills: You should look into getting your attitude redefined by a medical panel as "ingratitude disorder" before claiming discrimination. Until then, don't expect people to go the extra mile for you.
