Yes, unfortunately the CPU in the v-machine is quite weak, that's why it does not work; you could use it with only one or two voices activated (we've tested this already), but that's of course not the way you want to use it

Let's hope SM Pro Audio one day will finally resease the V-Rack - in this one it presumably will work (installers and everything are already optimized in the VFX package)

we will probably very soon add an upgrade path for reaktor users to the VFX Edition - this will allow you to use OP-X PRO-II on mac, even if not in au mode

Btw, there is already an upgrade path for Reaktor owners to the integral version (VSTi/VFX) of OP-X PRO-II, for those wo want to use it on both mac and pc

"Dual Engine Processing: "

I think I praised that too early... It does not work to the extend I am usually stressing this... :?

Scenario: I press a key and keep it pressed, then I change a patch and while keeping the first depressed I press another one... then I see what happens during this.

Ideally the old sound keeps on going while with the new key press I get the new one at the same time. When I release the old key the old sound sustains until I hit that again which should give the new sound then.

I know this test is extreme but some rare plugins really do that trick. Unfortunately OP-X Pro II seems not to master this - even with "PP" on. Maybe I missed something here? It's just ok as glitching is close to zero - the old depressed key's sound jumps instantly to the next patch.

And BTW: buttons switched on in the upper gui bar are very hard to see - toggling just between a lighter and a darker bluish color... :?

hello peter,

thx for your quick response. if it will work with 2 voices and there is a clever note steeling algorithm behind it i would think about that option if a vmachine version can be bought. maybe i will try the demo :).

We've just added a new upgrade path, for OP-X Reaktor owners, who can get the VFX Edition now for just $69

This could be an interesting upgrade for those who already own OP-X Reaktor and want to be able to use OP-X PRO-II on their Mac

The item is "OP-X PRO-II VFX Edition upgrade from OP-X Reaktor":
http://www.sonicprojects.ch/opxpro2/purchase.html

We think this should be an attractive price, even though using the synth in VFX of course is less flexible than using it directly in a sequencer; but it works well (some are already using it), installation is dead easy, and audio can be routed to a sequencer track using the free Cycling74 SoundFlower. The apple own IAC driver furthermore can be used to send MIDI from the sequencer to VFX. More infos here:
http://www.sonicprojects.ch/opxpro2/macversion.html

Check it out :-)

I have been going through the sounds the last few days and I just wanted to let you know I'm impressed with OPX Pro II.

Most patches of VSTi's (and hardware instruments) are drowned in effects to make them sound good but OPX Pro II sounds absolutely terrific without the use of effects! I agree some sounds sound better in OPX Pro II with a touch of delay or reverb and the patches where these effects are added used sound more lively now.

OPX Pro II was missing in my VSTi collection and I'm sure I will use OPX pro II a lot for it's authentic, recognizable, warm and fat sounds.

I need to be able to use it in Logic/MainStage, so either an ensemble of Reaktor (as I have now) or a native AU would be the only way to go for me. From what I read there is no support for either of these. Once the synth is updated to either one, it would be interesting as I use the older version quite frequently.

I bought opx pro 2, if I change my system to macintosh someday (not likely, but want to know), does my license include the mac vfx version or do I need to buy seperate vxf edition license?

I can't answer for Sonic Projects but my experience with them is they are very helpful and do not rip you off in such a case. I could imagine as a paying customer you will get the crossgrade for free if you kindly ask.

Keep in mind that the license is a simple serial number which is very customer friendly too... and a rare policy these days.

The VFX Edition is included in the standard license - see the second link at the bottom of the license mail - it can be licensed with the same key

That's very good news and nice to know! Even if I'm not planning on going apple, I want my plugins to be as compatible as possible.

I love the new Pro II version btw :) Stunning sounds!

Update:

OP-X PRO-II has been reported to work on Receptor by OP-X PRO-II customer and Receptor user Kevin Looney

Here's his installation guide (user installable):

Presumably the synth will also be offered as officially supported plugin by Muse Research in the future

a new patch has been added in the user area

I'm having troubles getting the new version work in FLStudio...
There's no sound at all and the buttons don't respond.
Anyone else?
