Donkey Wail Vicar
This Megabyte Thing
Dear God, Nuns!

Unscramble and find the link; just to make it even more annoying, it isn't I Had Ya Brad!, but that should at least help solve one of the above.

Too tricky? I'll provide more clues later...

OK, I'll break it down a bit...

Donkey Wail Vicar

(5,2,8) - The whole thing is his name, but the first word is also a description. I Had Ya Brad! (3,4,3) is an album by the same artist with connections to the next two answers (but is not the answer I'm looking for).

This Megabyte Thing

(4,5,2,6) - A band, but originally a duo.

Dear God, Nuns!

(11) - A band; should really be (5,6) to appear in a dictionary.

More confused?

The names aren't as tricky as the link. Without getting knee-deep in google, the only thing that comes to mind is they all sang songs about particular men, but I doubt that's what you're after.

Weird Al Yankovic - 'Pacman' or his cover of 'Secret Agent Man'
They Might Be Giants - 'Particle Man'
Soundgarden - 'Spoonman'

(They have a fight. Triangle wins. Triangle man.)

Ironic then, that the only reason I stooped to using anagrams was because I thought the link was too easy to find! I knew it was Google-proof, but...

OK, another clue: for the first two, it's in the lyrics; for the last, it's in the title.

Palindromes?

Weird Al - Bob
TMBG - I Palindrome I
Soundgarden - Satanoscillatemymetallicsonatas

Yep! All have used palindromes as a basis for lyrics, or, in Soundgarden's case, the title of an EP.

Hear that sound? That's the bottom of a barrel being scraped...

I'm sure Barnadine will do better...

I thought I just about scraped through last time... :)

Silly picture rounds are what we need.

Prepare for disappointment! Let's see what else we can find at the bottom of the barrel...

Odd one out and why:

Death Cab For Cutie
The Mountain Goats
Radiohead
Spoon
Jet

(Sorry Gary, didn't have time to come up with a picture puzzle. Or a clever question.)

I'm all Googled out at the moment, but I'm going to put forward a couple of theories:

Lead singers are all vegan/vegetarian?

All are involved with animal rights/PETA etc.?

Except...Spoon. I think.

Well, this is entirely possible, but not what I was after. :)

Hint: there's a song involved in each case, though not necessarily by the band itself.

Hard to give further clues without letting the cat out of the bag, but here are a few others who fit on the list:

Deep Purple
Madness
Right Said Fred

Post

OK, I'm guessing it's The Mountain Goats, who were named after a line from Screamin' Jay Hawkins' "Yellow Coat", whereas the rest took their names directly from the titles of other songs:

Death Cab For Cutie (Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band)
Radiohead (Talking Heads' "Radio Head")
Spoon (Can)
Jet (Wings)
Deep Purple (Peter DeRose)
Madness (Prince Buster)
Right Said Fred (Bernard Cribbins)

Full disclosure.

Spot on, Frank.

And I'm relieved to have that page back me up. I only knew a few of the connections for sure; the rest came from a quick trawl of the internet. :hihi:

Post

OK: 5 album covers, and a connection. If no-one gets all the answers, including the connection, I'll post clearer versions of them all until someone does. Capiche?

Not sure if it's just me, but I see no images there.
