I used the midi learn feature to map the midi CC from trackpad2midi to the cutoff and reso on a synth (Any synth, they all does the same thing).

When I recorded some automation into the sequencer, the movements are recorded and plays back but there aren't any automation points on the frequency or cutoff lanes for the synth. I can't re-write or view the information anywhere.

The only way I can cease the automation playback and delete it is to delete the CC mapping from the midimapper.

This does not seem right. Can anyone else confirm this bug with a standard midi controller?

Is this how it is supposed to be? When I wiggle the knobs, I want it to record the automation into the lane so I can see it and edit it.

it was probably recorded as CC data instead of automation envelopes. i'll have to test some more, but maybe automation recording via midi doesn't work at all?

i did test it. when using midi to automate something through the Controller Map, it gets recorded as midi data, not envelopes. so to edit it, you have to show the lanes for the CCs you sent.

for synths with their own internal midi mapping, the automation seems to be recorded as envelopes. if you connect the midi source to the sequencer instead of directly to the synth, it actually records both the midi and the automation.

this is why i hate Automation recording being linked with normal recording!!


i should be able to disable automation recording at least!!!

but i would also want to only record automation so it would be best to have automation recording set in a way that you don't have to be recording inputs to record automation,


there could still be a option to link them if wanted!
