Hi folks,
There are a lot of books about chord progressions! Do you know one with audio examples for the progressions? I mean with an additional CD? Or an audio book? And if such a book would include Jazz harmonics (not a must), that would be great! :)

Actually, the book i recommended prolly won't work.

Try The Songwriter's Workshop: Harmony by Jimmy Kachulis from Berklee Press. It has a cd with lots of tracks.

Probably the reason there aren't too many of these available is that most books assume you will try out these progressions yourself. Even if you don't play piano, it shouldn't be that hard to just play the chords in a sequence, and listen to yourself playing it. And sometimes that is more effective, too. Especially for jazz and more sophisticated harmony, the authors are assuming you will play the examples in the book yourself.

Also, Tonal Harmony is a traditional harmony textbook which has cd's available (as an add-on optional purchase) to listen to many of the notated examples in the book.

Hope that helps!
Sam

sammy24 thanks for that info!

I am actually looking for the same thing - both of the books look great but judging by the reviews one is very basic and the other is a straight Text book which are both fine but I was wondering if you or anyone else had any other suggestions?

Thanks mr I went to the store and picked up a copy of How to write songs on Keyboard and it was exactly what I was looking for.

I also found one in the same section called Harmony for Computer musicians that I picked up as well but haven't had time to really check it out yet.

Thanks again for your help
