Samplelord Mute Channels problem

hi
Asked this twice via emails, but no answer from the devs (great support, thanks)
Bought cantabile performer few weeks ago, and i have a problem with samplelord, it deosn't remember the muted/soloed channels (this allows you to use one single samplelord instance, as it's 16 parts multitimbral, but you can set them all to channel 1).
My daw, fl studio remembers those, so i guess they can/should be saved in vst state...
Thanks

Usually vst parameters of plugins should be saved in Cantabile too.
I don't have samplelord but VSTs handle presets differently. The ones with internal sound browsers do often externally not use vst patches but vst banks only. Funny that freebies are often working better here... just offering the standard patch mechanisms.
If you're using subsessions you might try the plugin "subsession behavior" - "entire bank" option. This can help with plugins that do not support single vst patches. Unfortunately there can be side effects with sample based plugins that sometimes start reloading all samples... only way to find out is to check it.
Finally I don't know for sure what the problem is - resend your question to Topten - I'm sure you will get an answer even if it may take some time.

To add another idea, you can use midi filters in subsession context to control midi flow to your mutli timbral plugin on subsession basis. With this you can mute the midi channels to parts you don't want to actually play. It's a bit under the hood and cumbersome to use but a technical alternative if recalling patches with sample lord may not work for one or another reason.

It's strange that a reply needs so long. But Brad seems having vanished for some weeks - no forum posts here either... hope he is well.

I have just tested my samplelord and it seems to work ok. Muting channels. It recalls the mutes ok, as it should.
Cantabile performer 2.0.0.2050

Interesting, as latest Cantabile build is .2056
Maybe there are some new bugs?
I am curious if the "latest stable build" .2049 works better concerning the sample lord issue...
@easymode: maybe you can download the latest stable build installer from Topten and compare?

Midi filters don't seem to be subsessions aware, or I did something wrong.TiUser wrote:To add another idea, you can use midi filters in subsession context to control midi flow to your mutli timbral plugin on subsession basis. Its shared between subsessions here

...probably you are right. There was an experimental feature where you could put filters into subsession context but that seems to be disappeard when I am not wrong...
Only workaround may be using midi routings where you can put in midi filters. Midi routings in the routing table are definitely subsession sensitive. However I am not sure if you get glitches and it's for sure cumbersome to use...

Midi routings work fine for that indeed, although it seems slower to switch between subsessions than when not using those.TiUser wrote:...probably you are right. Thanks for the (temporary i hope) fix, cheers

I agree that's just a workaround. I hope for better multi timbral plugin support some time in Cantabile.
