Glad to hear you're enjoying the library!
To me, the audio example you posted sounds like half-muted powerchords, not single strings. Have you tried just sequencing those? Part of it is also the amp/cab used. I can ask my guitarist about that to see if he has suggestions on matching it closer. Otherwise, there are currently no plans to record single-string half-mutes since nobody else has asked for that feature, but IF other people speak up and are interested, we'll most likely do it.
In terms of tuning, the guitar was tuned down to D, dropped to C. Does that make sense?

Okay! haha I guess I'm kinda asking too much. Well, yesterday I showed some material to a friend and he was like impressed about it. Looking forward for the expansion! Thanks man-

Don't worry, you are not asking too much. We just have to weigh all potential new features against other ones we are interested in doing. For example, currently we plan on adding the following to the Shreddage expansion:
* Harmonics
* Vibrato (w/o pinch)
* True legato
* Expanded range
But again, if others chime in and ask for half-muted sustains... we'll do that!

Well then, i would very much like half muted single strings. Even it that means not getting Vibrato with the expansion.zircon wrote:Don't worry, you are not asking too much. hi zircon
a friend have buyed shreddage i've heard that the open sustains have no velocity layers and sounds always the same...
in the expansion can you sample the sustains with many dynamics like the mutes??
i will buy it!!

Every open sustain has 8x round robins, which is definitely a lot of variation. There isn't much point in velocity layers for a library that is intended to be run through hi-gain amplification, though...

It's difficult to follow what you mean. Have you considered using punctuation (you know, full stops and commas) to add a bit of structure?Samplerion wrote:zircon wrote:… the difference when play more soft can be heard anyway i don't like it in general...
And what does "it" refer to in "i don't like it in general"?

If it were easy, anybody could do it!

i was saying that i don't like realLPC at all, but comes with the dynamics in the sustains

Truth be told we can't fit much more material into Shreddage X, which is going to be a $20 upgrade to a $50 product. However, we do plan on doing Shreddage 2 at some point, and we would definitely go nuts with that and add velocities as well.

Hey, quick easy question I hope:
I purchased vir2's electri6ity, want to buy your Shreddage also, but the only Kontakt I have is whatever version came with electri6ity (Kontakt Player 4).
So can I use shreddage with what I have, or would I also need to purchase the full version of Kontakt?
Thanks!
edit: nevermind, found the search button! too bad though, i really don't wanna buy kontakt, but love the sounds from shreddage!

Ah yes, that is the one downside of developing libraries like we do. Almost all other indie devs do the same thing, as Native Instruments charges very high fees to license their player. Kontakt is a really fantastic plugin though, and will enable you to use tons of libraries from companies like us, Tonehammer, Cinesamples, Cinematique, Soniccouture, Bolder Sounds, Lyrical Distortion, Bela D, etc. It's well worth the price of admission.
Anyway, while we have the thread bumped, here's a track I made using Shreddage. It's a remix of Final Fantasy 5 modeled after the sound of Pendulum. Some seriously heavy drop B tuning on this one.
Enjoy! \m/
Side note: Shreddage X has now been recorded. Editing time.
