Why 2 days? It's my birthday, and I anticipate getting the usual (and highly appreciated) $100 from my mom :) Gonna get the Glue with it and I'll even have $1 left over for a bagel. I've been using the demo for the past few days on all sorts of material and.. wow :shock:

I've been using Stillwell's the rocket demo for a few months now (without buying it) and I didn't think it would be fair for me to get The Glue and keep using Rocket for free, so I also just got The Rocket and that's my birthday present to myself.

It was great testing a bunch of compressors side by side these last few days. I really got a feel for the type of sound they each produce by roughly matching settings and running different types of material through them.

My list of favorites:

#1 The Glue
#2 The Rocket
#3 Bombardier
#4 Major Tom

Eventually I want to own all 4 of these. Can't wait to see what other stuff Andy comes up with..
I like your list! 4 very good compressors for an affordable price!
+1

in that order too.

I sold my rocket, because I have sonalksis covering me, but Stillwell plugins (esp. the dynamics) are exceptional value for money and sound amazing.

Rocket is a killer compressor way under priced.

I like your attitude pheeleep :) You are in good company here.

You can already switch on x2 oversampling in v1.0.18, but it is officially not supported yet as it requires more testing. Have a look at the "Settings.xml" file which is located next to your Presets folder. You can open a browser at this folder using the menu command "Show Preset Folder" from inside The Glue. With a text editor you can change the line:
<Tuple Key="OversampleRealtime" Value="Off"/>
to
<Tuple Key="OversampleRealtime" Value="x2"/>
I wonder if you changed the value to x4 or even x8 .. Would you have 4 or 8 times oversampling?-)

This will be supported in the future, but presently this "hack" only works for x2 - any text not matching x2 will switch oversample off.

Oversampling news: I'm in the final stages of testing oversampling, which I have specified to be linear phase and have below -120 dB noise floor from 0 to 20 kHz.

I've done some latency compensation (automatic delay compensation) tests where I up sample then down sample the signal ( x2, x4, x8 ) and then cancel it with the original and it all looks perfect - complete cancellation within specifications. That means that for hosts that support latency compensation every last detail and transient stays exactly where it is even when oversampled. I could post some audio examples or screenshots but you won't hear / see anything so there isn't any point!

we want waves of silence!!!! :lol:

not sure if i will use the oversampling, (the Glue sounds just right as it is for me) but i still look forward to testing/playing with it, & i may be wrong again! :)

i recall thinking the same thing before you updated the algo, :hihi:

hope you are well Andy!!

This is indeed great news. I can't wait to get home & try it out! :D

i really like being able to set different oversampling rates for live play and rendering.
very handy here, on my pretty old laptop!

After trying it out for a few days I've realised I'm not going to be able to live without this, so just bought it.

Thanks for an amazing plug-in :D
