When you put it that way, no.

But, hey, I thought you were anti-chord and pro-scale-step!

And yet here you are talking about chord changes, like a follower of the corrupt practices of Rameau and his ilk!

Was that TMI on my part? I didn't mean to go too Pythagorus on his ass. :(
I didn't even understand his question, so who knows.

BUT! I would NOT have got: ["So What" 2 chords] If you were John Coltrane and you were soloing, would you play just one scale derived from both chords?
Hmm... that example made perfect sense to me. I would have put on that record and tried it myself. I might have even transcribed the actual solos and figured out what scales they were.

Mebbe the statement otter be, 'I wouldn't have got that comment from my google search with those terms'.

Makes sense to both of us. I just thought it hilarious to say to someone who'd only ever dealt with C major and is somewhat new to the minor triad.

You are right, I am a Fux-boy. In fact, it may be said that I am the mother of all Fuxers.

But I do speak Rameauean since it is the lingua franca of the world. And so I occasionally talk to people about "chord progressions." It's kind of like I'll say, "well, you are a Taurus, so that's why you do things like that," even though I don't believe in astrology. I say it because THEY believe is astrology.

But yes, Rameau es la diabolus in musica! 8)

If I could only find a tool like this to list all the intervals for each scale step. That is something a I have to painstakingly calculate myself. That's when the scale really come alive in my opinion.

I think you are right about that. If you do this sort of analysis enough times you can do can figure all the intervals relative to a given root note very quickly. This sort of speed of thinking about chords and scales will help you to play changes fluently.
