I think MIDIOX can do that.

Check here... http://www.midiox.com/

has anyone experienced a blue screen while using sq8l? happened the other day while tweaking an envelope parameter. haven't had any more bsod's since (although haven't used sq8l since).

I grabbed the SQ8L a little while back and I got to say it is one of my faves . I have contacted the Dev and it seams he has let go of the idea of deving the pro or XL version . Sad for sure . I would love to see the GUI parameters work with midi cc and would also love to see a OSX port too as I use it in Vfx on Mac through X11 and it limits it a bit ( bank C&D don't work ) .
Not sure why he is no longer going forward ? If it's money and or demand maybe we should let out a load booming voice letting him know we would pay for it ?

The mentioned adds as well as 16 voice 4 multi parts would be more than enough for me . Though on a superficial note an ESQ-1 skin would be very welcomed too

Wait, did he openly tell you that he's not gonna continue development, or?

In that case, it might be a good idea to open-source the code...

I don't want to quote him directly , but it was put in a way that said to my eyes as less than not very likely ... and that was about the pro version BTW
He mentioned an upcoming update to the beta/free ware version of the SQ8L

I have mentioned going open source in my correspondence or even maybe looking for a comical dev to sell the code he has done as well .

I hope it lives on as my ESQ is having issues + it's at least in my book up there with my G-force and Korg plugs in terms of quality , character , and frequency of use .

That link doesn't work. You need to provide the page you linked to this from.

This is a good plug. A pro version would be an instant buy!

I have been communicating with Siegfried Kullmann from the very start as i allso did the most of the factory presets (Bank C, preset 41 to 127) and he has revealed some of the features he is/was working on with the Pro version and it is a SHAME if we never hear this monster in action :-(

I have tried a couple of times to encourage Siegfried to go on with develoment, the last time was june 2010 but sadly haven't heard from him since.

I hope he is well and the reason is other and more interesting things in his life.

Guys, it's a pro version NOW. I'm rarely impressed, but I love this plug-in. I also happen to have an ESQ-1 right beside me right now, and this plug is no more difficult to program than the original (although adding the topology map, envelope key, and page buttons would help). $1600 1986 dollars multiplied by however many instances you need, for free? :hail:

I agree with you 100%
I never, i mean NEVER believed that this great synth would come out as vst.
And if it did it would only be an ok emulation... BUT
SQ8L is in my opinion the best emulation of hardware ever made and it was a dream come through when i tried it the first time.
It reads all my great patches made on my SQ80 through the years... ! is that great or what.
it's just that Siegfried told me about many of the new features on the SQ8 Pro, so i was really exited about it and was hoping for it to be finished.
I personally think that SQ8L should stay as it is namely an exact soundwise copy of SQ80

I totally agree with that but I would love to be able to map the knobs and switches to CCs and/or be able to automate them, which you can't in the current version.

i wish there was a Mac AU version. i haven't the tolerance for X11 & sound routing hacks (ie: soundflower) to try setting up VFX as a Windows VST player ... i wish VFX would implement an X11-not-required version, but i guess they're stuck with what WINE is stuck with...

EDIT: the character of this plug is great. thankfully it's not CPU heavy at all and i can run it on my 500MHz PC... though i still prefer to have it on my main machine... which is Mac at the moment...
