ive been dragging and dropping midi drum loops into midiloops.
sometimes ill make a bunch that should all be the same size but while the rest will load in at 12 beats for instance sometimes one will be at approx 11.9 beats or something and then that loop wont sync up nicely.
is there a way to have that be adjustable so i could make it fit?
these are all drumset midi files, and when they work its great because you can go from one to the other without missing a beat so if verse has sidestick and chorus has snare you can do that easy. this last batch of loops i loaded there were 9 and 8 of em loaded and looped fine.
thanks for a killer app!

hmmm... did you make the midi files with a "loop area" track? if the file doesn't have that track, it will just round it up so that it's a multiple of 4 beats. send me one that loads wrong if you want and i will check it out.
anyway, it would be nice to be have more control over the start and end points... you can move them now, but only in whole beat steps.

heres a broken one:
http://www.sendspace.com/file/c3flfj
heres two others that should be same length that work:
http://www.sendspace.com/file/3nkxu2
http://www.sendspace.com/file/h5mloq
they were all written from nuendo3, which doesnt generate a "loop area" track afaik.
aside from that my only other issue is changing tempo hiccups the beat, itd be great if that was smoothed out.
thanks thanks thanks, excellent work on a fun plugin that ill be using lots.

it might be a little while before i work on this anymore so i'll post what i have... lots of bug fixes, most functions should work correctly now, etc.
this version allows multiple patterns to be played at once. you can do this in a few different ways:
- use note triggering
- ctrl-click the pattern buttons at the bottom to toggle play for that slot
- right-click a pattern button to play that slot exclusively, and switch to it for editing
there is also a piano roll tacked on that doesn't work very well.

i changed the name because it works a little differently, but i'll probably change it back when it's finished...

fixed a couple more bugs with midi file loading, and added a loop area thing above the piano roll (left-click to set start, right-click to set end, hold shift to disable snapping).

amazing and then some!
i'll try it out on v-machine later tonight, its still packed up from the gig atm.
i had fixed that one jazz swing loop by just recording it into midilooper instead of dragging and dropping, and of course that was great.
new loop features will be great tho, i can see this is one of those plugins ill be sayin "i knew it back when..."
really cool.

Ok, I found a few more bugs and added some stuff:
- Force to key (definable using little GUI keyboard, with shift up/down buttons)
- When using note triggering in "Transposed" modes, it will shift notes within the key
- Toggle option for note triggering
- Play groups: when playing a slot assigned to a play group, other slots in the group also play
- Mute groups: when playing a slot assigned to a mute group, other slots in the group will stop playing
- Snap and grid size settings for piano roll
- Note velocity adjustment in piano roll (alt-drag up/down)
- Rearranged GUI

This has most of the stuff i wanted it to have, so I'm declaring it "beta" instead of "alpha."
The final version will not be free, but will be reasonably priced (if I can manage it, less than ten million dollars). Feel free to make a donation now, and you will get a license for the final version when it's done.

What about Force-to-Key that works by playing actual keys on a physical keyboard, like on all those chord recognition keyboards from the last 30 years. All that "mouse DJ performance" makes me very, very sad, especially knowing that we live in 2010.
