Ok, and if you are DJing a set and aliens attack, you can fight them off with your mad dj skills and your trusty bode freq shifter :hihi:

And as we can see from "Mars Attacks!" only vinyl kills aliens, no mp3's or CD's.

Post

Yeah, but imagine vinyl mangled by the Bode Frequency shifter ... !
This is for the extra nasty aliens. :D

This effect was used in Star Wars correct? Example: the X wing battle scene at the end of New Hope. When all the pilots are talking to each other over the radio trying to destroy the Death Star/Space Station?

Very nice indeed. Too bad I'm broke. I'll get it when I have some money again.. A wee bit steep (the price) for such a specialized effect but it does sound very good. $20 would have been cool.. Nice work. No demo?

Used in many sci fi films over the years.

I will make a demo version, but very reduced in functionality, only for testing compatibility (because all my plugs that just have a nagscreen or Dronos which is set to monophonic have come up on warez sites already...)

I admit this is a very special effect, but this is also the reason for the price, because I might only sell a handfull of it, and it took many many weeks until it was working as intended. The vintage unit is not available any more, there are hardware copies available as modules for modular synths, from around 600$ to 1600$.

Compatibility testing is what I am after :) Synthedit is hit or miss with me. Some work great, others don't work at all.

I like the GUI too by the way. I prefer chocolate brown wood panneling but that's just me. This lighter color works too ;)

And it's not expensive. Not cheap either. Reasonably priced.

Here's how BFS-1 can make a simple synth sound much more interesting (and psychedelic): dry, wet.

Any chance you could share some information about the underlying frequency shifting algorithm?

I was testing the SonicCharge EchoBode and the frequency shifting that claims to be inspired by the Bode shifter sounds very high quality, so I was looking to replicate the shifting to be distributed as a C++ class.

Reaktor 5 had a Freq-shifter (Core. It came later to the normal library. After Mr Costello's upload.. i think)
Reaktor 6 has a new one. (the R5 one was better, imho)
It is mono, but that can be changed.. there are already cables inside for the spread.. just choose or make a switch.

I used the R5 one to make my custom shifter.
Optional echo with shifter in feedback-path.
(It's not in the in UL)
