Funny you should mention this. I just picked up Audio Damage's Axon and it's pretty unique as things go.

Many of the included ensembles that come with Reaktor are very unique. Check out Newscool or Spacedrone.

Its as much a synth as many of the others listed, rompler is a meaningless term.
