Cytomic 'The Glue' Compressor

I find it useful to toggle the Peak Clip on and off and adjust the makeup so I can't hear any difference between the two and make sure the red light only blinks on during transients not the body of the sound. I normally find that I get an extra 3 to 6 dB of headroom doing this. Anything more and you will most likely be distorting your signal and need oversampling to keep the aliasing down, and I would only recommend doing this on individual channels, never on an entire mix.

There's that word again... MORE
There was this guy, Noel (you might know him - he's from your country) who was once saying :
What, you askin' me if I'm happy?
Listen, I've got eighty seven million pounds in the bank.
I've got a Rolls Royce.
I've got three stalkers.
I'm about to go on the board at Manchester City.
I'm part of the greatest band in the world.
Am I happy with that?
No I'm not!
I want more!
I'm happy with that figure, thank you

I just bought it! Nice joining the club. I didn't plan on buying a compressor but after I heard the audio demos I just had to.

Hi Andrew!
I've only just upgraded to version 1.1.2, so this is the fist time I've heard the improvements due to oversampling.
The difference is truly remarkable on the recommended 2x setting
Well done that man

Yep - it's a long time since I last contacted a developer about potentially reviewing a product for SOS only to find someone else was already writing itthecontrolcentre wrote:Congrats on the Sound On Sound review ... they like The Glue a lot.

Did some tests to check what's the difference between x64—x256 and I might say that even with ridiculous clipping there's no difference I could spot.
However, x64 beats x16 quite remarkably!
Andy, I noticed that even with x256 on, when processing is indeed notoriously slow (like 0.2-0.4 of the realtime) the load on my CPU (i7 920 with HT on) is around 15%.
It seems like it is not possible to spread the load of a single VST process between threads. Is it indeed so?
UPD, seems like x64 is where the difference matters! With x32 you can detect aliases above the noisefloor of the plugin, with x64 they disappear.

How many surrounding samples are used to build the oversampled image?

Andy I think it would be great if you started developing something else, for me The Glue has been rock solid and sounding great for some time now; in my book its entered the hall of fame.. time to let go maybe

i'm not at my music computer right now but i noticed something in the preferences of reaper about 'inform vst of offline render' or something like that. Is that something i should have ticked to enable the oversample rendering ? or is that done automatically now in this new version ?
