You're 90% of the way there so I'll put you out of your misery - it's debut albums that the artists have to some extent distanced themselves from.
The Kraftwerk reference was to the fact that they called their first two albums 'archeology' when asked if they'd ever make it to CD.

Aaaah-choo!
Sorry again for the extended delay; not sure if anyone's still out there, but here's my cold-addled brain's attempt at a cryptic question. I'll post more tonight and the final clues tomorrow. They're not anagrams!
A5: Sun children
B3: The Scarecrow Man

1989 album. More than 10 tracks. 'A' and 'B' are not sides.
Correlate correctly and there are five full track titles, and some big clues to most of the rest of them.

XTC's Oranges & Lemons. Your clues are made up of words taken from consecutive track titles, the A series and B series each containing a single word from all 15 tracks, which are:
1. Garden of Earthly Delights
2. The Mayor of Simpleton
3. King for a Day
4. Here Comes President Kill Again
5. The Loving
6. Poor Skeleton Steps Out
7. One of the Millions
8. Scarecrow People
9. Merely a Man
10. Cynical Days
11. Across This Antheap
12. Hold Me My Daddy
13. Pink Thing
14. Miniature Sun
15. Chalkhills and Children
All of which made me realise how long it's been since the last XTC album, but a bit of googling reveals they've officially called it quits. How sad. I knew Partridge and Moulding had drifted apart, but according to Wikipedia they no longer even communicate.

I was convinced I was talking to myself there for a while!
Yes, I'm sad to hear they've finally called it quits, but I also respect Andy Partridge for not continuing on with the XTC name without Colin Moulding, even though Andy wrote the vast majority of the material...

Righto, a quick album cover quiz:

Nine albums. Mostly obvious, some not. There's a link.

Of course!GaryG wrote:um, will you take two and no connection?
Wait, no.
Don't worry. Once you've got three or more, the connection will be glaringly obvious.
