It's been a rough couple of weeks, I kinda was feeling like a beat dog.


On another note...Wopelka:

That's a different tune you have there, the first time I heard it I didn't know what to think.

But another time around and a bit more relaxed, it cought my ears at 0.45 secs...that bass that kicks in ...works real well, and the words fell into place real nice too.....some parts do lose me at times, but I do hope to hear more of this from you and your rappin friend.....it's a new sound and it's a nice change.

On .28 "here comes the show man"...quite catchy, it sticks!

The rhythms are pure 60's, the twangy guitar is mid-late 60's country-pop. The organ is a Vox soundalike - you can hardly get more 60's than that.
So you've obviously done it wrong
With the happy upshoot of sounding like something a lot more fun.

I will give up that some of the lead playing on that sounds suspiciously Buck-Owensish, which is big '60's...but that organ is the venerable B4 on a hardcore B3 setting...bastards!

As to UNICON...

I don't think I have bluesland, though a quick search shows that it is in print on numerous comps...

Ixox - Now my French understanding is little, but as I understand it; the prisoner is closed Naaah, I very much liked the sensitive, ballady and in a way folkish approach you took this month. Beautiful arranging, where I noticed the kick drum to have quite the special place in this.... Somehow it is hard to move on to the next tune, would want to keep playing this...

Godfather - Now that's what I love so much about the free-for-all. You never know what to expect . Metal is not really my thing, but I think you did one heck of a job on the guitars. Are you sure you are in the right month btw. This could have well been a chase through a cold Nam-city. I was not that keen on the samples though, either I think FX ing them with great dirt or keeping them out would have benefitted this more....

Ianweb123 - Not to rain on your parade, but I got this great Casio/game-music kinda vibe. Quite daring to do a tune this way and leave out the drums. There was something seductive in the sounds that I can't put my finger on.... The power of Krakli I guess

Sleek Month - There is something magical in the way this is mastered and produced that I guess I know you're gonna hit the top 5 again.... Very playful song, with some great elements and most of all the arrangement of this just keeps my ears on sticks. Production with the capital PRO Wow!

Plunge - What a surprising entry. At the beginning I felt the sounds a bit too thin, but as the tune evolved all sounds found its place. I just loved that dragging organ. Lazy beats, very subtle cowbell?/deep wood?. Perhaps a bit too stereo'ed out. I felt the droney sound in the right a bit lonely opposite of the strings in the left

Rsmus7 - Really weird... I had the idea as if the bass-end of the tune got sucked in, instead of giving a big punch.... and in the beginning in the right channel the sounds seem to be distorted a bit. Did you perform a huge delay on the kick with some weird FX or something... I keep turning it up, trying to find out the secret of the tune... Hmmm, I'll keep an eye out for what the more trained ears are saying about this... One thing you did succeed in; you got my full attention on this one And yes, the Depeche influence is clearly there....

Offisa Pupp - bored... me with this kinda music... Never One thing though at 0.33 the sounds clashed a tad and melded too much.... the rest is well produced. So which instrument did you put the screwdriver in? Yup, this is noise and nothing but noise.... And in the great Wopelka Words : Noise can be Music too!!!

Beardedone - This must be one of the best I have heard from you yet... and I've heard many a good one pass by. That part when the bass comes in at .24 maaaaaaaan, that is one punchy, funky (yes funky too) and jazzy bass. Everything is so incredibly well layered and placed within the arrangement. T.O.P. Production. It reminds me of the Acid-Jazz nights where I'd go and just let go dance-wise.... very tender and brushy drums. I cannot find one nit in here, and I don't want to either....

Multree - You took the advice and used this for the monthly challenge ... And daring I may say to not add anything and just let the voice and guitar do its splendid work. A tad too roomy on the reverbs I feel, but that's just a minor nit. Great lyrics, and swell melody

Anakha - must have been one of them old choochoo's judging by the speed it is dl'ing Haunting intro with some deliciously deep pads you got going on there. Ending up in Metallica heaven... What a darn gone shame you crossed the time limits..... This was one heavy and great tune.

Shane Saunders - I fear that the low end of the great pads took away the energy out of the tune, there is an underlying rumble underneath here that seems to suck all the attention away... Which I think is a shame as this is one heck of an arranged piece... That one lead (which seems to have that rindmodulation) that starts at .22 I think could have used some EQ dips to allow other instruments and itself to have better emphasis... Now... I must say these are my amateur ears listening, but I am trying to learn just as much through listening as well as practicing....

AndreasErhardt - You said a little strange tune... I would call it quite daring to come with an arrangement such as this one... Bagpipes eh? I would not have guessed, and even now knowing I still raise my eyebrows here... But then that is what we as artists try to do isn't it; finding different ways to interpret, play, or even totally screw sounds beyond recognition (ohno, that was the fubar thread, sorry). I quite enjoyed this Andreas

Windchillfactor - I so enjoyed this classical string touch that you added here... that plus the cello brought a very special atmosphere to the tune. I get the impression a bit that you're not so keen on your voice ) a bit mumbly and a bit put back in the mix.... yet there is the distinctive quality in the tone of it. It reminds me in a way of Nick Cave. The growl at 1.09 is cool.... Could you post the lyrics in the gossip thread?

Willkoryte - This is my first introduction to French Rock n Roll..... Supercool man... Nice lofi effect on the opening guitars. This gave me visions of a complete band playing live.... TOPS!

Thank you Andreas for your kind words. I am glad that you liked it.

I used mainly Atmosphere and Tera. It's funny that it reminds you of Tangerine Dream. I was growing up with their music and I really like it. But I would never have thought that I could make something even remotely resembling the mood of their music. Thus, I take it as a great compliment.

I've been listening to other contest songs. Amazing music! Those k-v-r guys are really talented. I have listened to, perhaps 30% percent of all the songs and I already have few favorites (including your arrangement Andreas ). What will happen later when I had listened to all of them, and there are like 20+ of them competing for the first place?!
