Even if you make such a synth, would be great to have those oscillator models in Zebra too...Urs wrote:It isn't decided yet. I'm rather thinking of an easy-to-use 2VCO->VCF->VCA synth that has pretty accurate models of various oscillators (Sh-09, Juno 60, alpha Juno, JP8000 and then some) combined with pretty accurate models of various filters (Minimoog, Sh-09, MS-20, SEM and then some), various closely modeled ADSR generators and a whole bunch of uhbikal effects thrown in. However, each of the components would be modeled to exceed the natural ranges of control. I have a lot of these things sitting idle in my drawer. Would be good for either Zebra or such a minisynth (as requested by many, many people who find Zebra and even ACE too intimidating), or both.Architeuthis wrote:Urs is apparently working on a JP8000 emulation + extras for sound quality as an add-on for Zebra.

Why not? I think that a dance/performance synth with some "legend construction kit" would cater for a very different audience than Zebra.Igro wrote:not great by business means...pdxindy wrote:Even if you make such a synth, would be great to have those oscillator models in Zebra too...

i think Igro means that its not great business sense for you to 'also' add the OSC mode to Zebra as it my detract from sales of the new synth, (if you was to do a new synth!!)Urs wrote:Why not? hate the synth because its sounds really GREAT and it really unexpensive for what you get but indeed and unfortunately especially in regard it undeniable qualities is a terrible CPU HOG !!!!Dj Troy wrote:hate the synth don't think it sounds great plus its a cpu hog
the worst of all is, knowing the skill of his coder, he certainly tried hard to avoid the problem and there's likely no solution to the fact !!!!!
As the title suggest, this is likely one of the "Oh no(es) !!!"

The problem is that I find supersaws to be the most amazing synthesizer sound (maybe even most amazing sound period) I've ever heard. Supersaws can create all sorts of beautiful pads, leads, basses, strums, acoustic imitations, etc. I describe a supersaw as something heavenly, angelic, fantastical, powerful, raw, biting, searing, stabbing... To me, a supersaw is for electronic music like strings are for orchestra.
Edit: So point is... don't tell me your synth can't do supersaw (or whatever term is being used these days)!
No. It's more like the developer is telling me, "well supersaws are too difficult to create so we didn't try as our engine just isn't capable of making it sound good, oh and on a side note, nothing that our engine does sounds good."
That's what I hear. But I guess it's foolish to equate a good supersaw being equal to a good sounding synth engine.

Seems to be in line with all the other things you've heard and concluded over the years.Architeuthis wrote: That's what I hear. But I guess it's foolish to equate a good supersaw being equal to a good sounding synth engine.
No worries though, we're still suckers for some good entertainment!

Many people have the trouble that what they hear is not what was said... their minds start editorializing instead of just listening... as in this case...Architeuthis wrote:pdxindy wrote:So you would prefer a developer tell you it can do supersaw sounds even if it cannot so you can go waste time on your search... you're daft man!Architeuthis wrote:Here's my problem with your and Urs' statement. It said "100% free of supersaw" - Everything you think it said beyond that is you making it up in your mind. ACE is focused elsewhere than supersaw. The developer let you know that. If you are only interested in supersaw, the developer saved you some time and you can move on.

My lady does this all the time. In fact I sometimes think that she only hears her own voice. A continual voice recorder is needed!! Imagine how bad it gets when I am doing it as well.
