are you saying that a GUI made in Paint can't look decent? :-o

adamtrance: nice pads, but seriously, change the name, no "pee" no "sh*t" please
It doesn't matter how it sounds..
..as long as it has BASS and it's LOUD!

I don't care what you call it.. as long as you eventually release it... sounds really really nice.

The clicking in the first demo makes me think you're using samples???

Couldn't find an entry in either EU nor US trademark databases. So I'm either blind or it isn't registered there.
Just for curiosity (and future VSTs of mine :D) - what databases do you use for that (free?)?
German Wikipedia says it's a trademark....

Hes switching between the hardware JP and his software creation back and forth.. the clicks are where each start/stop..

When I searched yesterday, all entries for "Supersaw" were either rejected, given up or run out.

i realise this is a very extricative inquiry, but given the nature of your graphics, perhaps you wouldn't mind telling me :hihi:

what kind of font are you using that doesn't look like total cack when you render it 5 pixels high? why don't i have that font and why does everybody else have it?

why do i alone, in the entire universe, have to render each character, for each gui design, individually? why is it that every edition of photoshop i use can't draw anything small and antialiased for total crap and even after a decade of using it i feel like the most challenging part of my job is to eg. render an 8 pixel diameter, 1 pixel width circle et c.???

if you just want to handle the first part of that, i'd be grateful :D

My suggestions for the name: JP-SS (JP supersaw synth?), JJP8, Supersaw VST, etc... I'd also recommend you remove the Ronald tag, maybe add some features that weren't on the JP and change the GUI enough so it doesn't resemble the original. Seriously, if there is even a slight chance of being approached my Roland, why take that chance?

And to be honest I don't think your GUI looks that good. If you choose to sell it, I'd imagine you could pay someone to make a professional GUI. Or even if you release it for free I'm sure someone here would be kind enough to make a better GUI for free.

If done right, this certainly has the potential of being a great synth.

i don't know about the OP but.. you know.. i have 3x5 font too, it's called "Pencil tool" and is available in Paint from the Toolbar :hihi:

nope its not samples, I was A/B-ing with the real supersaw, and the sudden change caused the clicks.

Pencil and brush tool is your answer for the fonts haha. I tried many small fonts but they are never that great so the best way to do them is manual hard work.

Great stuff Adam!
(And just 'cos everyone else is suggesting names despite the fact that you will use JP6K, my dubious contender is 'JollyPixels').

Why play the Roland angle at all ? It's just begging for trouble. Just call it Sven and if people like it,they like it. It's as easy as that really. I wouldn't even hint in the Roland direction, just describe what it does and that's that.

 actually (i'm embarassed to say but you've made it fun now) your gui looks a lot like 6 point arial bold :hihi:

advisable to type each word in several times and then select the one that moires/renders the best :tu:

your gui work still looks quite well done.

what I usually do is, I make the font as small as possible, while still readable, and apply the smoothing, then start stretching it out until the letters become the clearest. Then I usually rasterize it, and do the additional details by hand
