Rob Lee was absolutely right, Largo is right up my alley in personal tastes.

- Modulation options up the yinyang
- EXCELLENT sound quality

I'll see how well the new Phantasia String Studio soundset does -- gotta save for the website renovation, but if it does better than planned, I'll go ahead and buy ACE

Bad case of GAS... I got Gladiator because I was looking for some unique sounds, and this baby sure delivers. It's kind of hard to get it to sound "nice", as it all seems very pristine, a little harsh and "digital", and I'm really not the techno-ey supersaw kind of guy - but if you keep at it, it can really generate some lovely and disturbing textures. And it's good for a surprise.

...and then I got the damn Predator because I just fell in love with it. Didn't need it, because I'm well covered in the subtractive/VA department, but it does have a particular sound and timbre, somewhere between Zebra and Sylenth1. And it's sooooo frakkin' warm... I know this word is known to elicit revulsion when used to describe a synth, but hey... it's true in this case!

Winter is coming, and Predator will be my blanket.

Do not think that you will be dissapointed with the Blofeld Xenos, i recommended it (the module, not the keys version) to a good friend and he snapped it up and it is by far his go to for most stuff now

It does cover alot of ground also. The only other thing he still reaches for is his TX-7 for bass sounds out of preference and MicroKorg thing for the vocoder. I will post a link to the most recent track he has done which he used it in/on (going routing for it now!):

Not really my sort of thing but still the synth sounds are all from the Blofeld

Anyway i crumbled when Toontrack Music "Announced" Metalheads EZX expansion...
Just have to have it. Do not have a choice really

but i know i will get a shitload of millage out of it so it is far from an impulse buy

(yep keep telling yourself that Dean and it will all be just fine...)

I'll move my Akai MPK49 to the top tier of my two-tier keyboard stand and use this as my primary performance keyboard, the 61 keys will be a nice improvement!

Yeah, Winter is coming and I want to get all my gear in-house so I can crank out more tunes while the weather is horrible!

..maybe a faster laptop next..

I bought it several months back, its good for the price, knobs could do with being slightly further apart and infinite encoders are preferable. Im not a fan of the pitch mod stick and the way the mod axis is sprung, doesnt suit IMO. But overall value is good, seems very light but well constructed, and comes with a bundle of Cakewalk software.

had the same issue when I bought new monitors awhile back.

I'm lucky enough to have a very supportive wife with her own technology/gear lust. She's a vidja game addict so as long as I keep buying new consoles, laptops and big TVs she doesn't question all the boxes that arrive form Analogue Haven or Sweetwater.

That is my most critiqued area/thang "Why do you have to have all the wires all over the place?" (not even the term 'cable' is used FFS!) - At least once a week and this ain't a hot girlfriend or hot wife moaning at me either. Might as well be a freckin monk regarding my 'love' life. Then again if i did start all that shit again it would mean less GEAR funds unless i got real lucky (Luck and me do not go well together/have a bad relationship

Its all good really but still i am british and therefore shall always complain

and i guess cable is needed for some of Mrs.Sullivan's entertainment centre still (although ultra minimal compared with the modular setup in your room of course

Nice to know - I mainly want it for the keys and to send CCs to VST/i, I'll use my Akai MPK49 for controlling the DAW. Thanks for posting that!

My ex-wife is a guitar player/singer.. let me tell you, we'd fight and squabble over who got the recording gear when, who got to play whose guitar, whether the U20 I bought was shareable, who would pay for the Oberheim drum machine, etc. etc. etc. - I'm NOT going to live with a musician again! Give me a writer, visual artist, etc. - NO MUSICIANS THEY'RE CRAZY!
