In the "Rack" (the virtual mixer stripe) named Vowel Ensemble you will see the first sloth white (that means that something is loaded there).
Click on the green arrow to access the device loaded there.
You will have in front of you a device named MUX which have 4 controlls, A E, I O, A-E I-O, A-E-I-O U. Those buttons crossfade between the vowels written there.
If you right click on the buttons, from the menu you will be able to choose "assign MIDI controller".

Minor quibble from me, don't know if anyone else has encountered this. I find that in the dry Kontakt version the "Eh" sound is noticeably louder than the other vowel sounds when scrolling through the mod wheel.
Just thought I'd mention it.

Maybe it is. To my ears, the "I" and "Eh" patches sounded louder. It might depend also to how the mod wheel send midi (and control the crossfade).
Well, feel free to edit it to your needs and taste

That's very nice, feel free to upload it. Can it be done with crossfading or just keyswitches ?

The mapping is basic, just keyswitches and the Volume controlled with the Modwheel. Im not sure how to crossfade with sfz (is possible i believe). If i understand the how-to, i will add it later.sorohanro wrote:That's very nice, feel free to upload it. Can it be done with crossfading or just keyswitches ?

You need to put the SFZ file in the same folder where "A Choir.MuSynth" is, i mean the parent folder of the samples.

Thanks
I would suggest to make a sfz mapping not for the Mu.Lab files, because the looping points were crossfaded on the actual wav file, so you might get some clicks if you don't choose the same loop points.
If you could make to the files from Kontakt patch I think would be better.
Anyway, great job, thanks again.

A reworked version of the pack named "Choir Vowel Ensemble Pack" is available on the official Mutools website on the "Download" section.
http://www.mutools.com/downloads.html
Jo from Mutools converted all 6 patches into a MuSynth patch and also converted all samples to Ogg files to keep filesize low (in the original is 32 bit wav).
The quality is still decent but the size is much smaller, so it's more suitable for people with a slower internet connection or with smaller HD drives.

Yeah I have this choir also..
But what I'd give to have something better.
So what other free choirs are there for Kontakt 5... or is this the only one?
Since I've dug practically everywhere for something.
If you guys find something i haven't..
I'll be greatfull.

I hate it when people/companies make it a requirement to have a Facebook account to get things. It's utter stupidity to think having an account is ubiquitous among the world's population. It is not.

Well, I've been up and down that FB page I don't know how many times and I sure can't find any download link for the Kontakt version, which I'm really curious about.
Why can't you just publish a download link like everybody else, here on KVR? Or at the very least publish the name of the link, so I can use Find in Firefox to locate it in this interminable ribbon of status updates?
There is no tab 'links' in FF on Mac. And I have an FB account, so I'm logged in.
This hide and seek only breeds frustration and bad karma.

If it were easy, anybody could do it!
