No. More oscillators and more everything will only make it harder to program. Past 4 oscillators and the basic distinct filter types there are such diminishing returns I don't know why anyone bothers with them.

It reminds me of how designers hand-made tens of thousands of animations for the sims 3 (or w/e), where if they designed something more powerful like proper AI to control the animations they would have saved a bunch of time and made everything more seamless.
I am of the mind that when you need that many of something to get the job done, it's not powerful enough in its essence. So perhaps instead of 23 filters there should be a filter designer that could produce any of them and more. That sort of thing.
It's got too many skins and, if I know Tone2, too many presets. Why do they bother?
It's not out yet, we haven't even heard it and already it's got my vote for Worst Synth of the Year.

Often people asked for different skins in Gladiator, so I think it's a wise choice to give the user the option to choose a ligh or dark or x skin. Concerning the presets: there will be a lot of interesting presets on board and this is something useful for a synth like this. Browsing presets the user has the immediate chance to hear what the instrument can do and have a better understanding of the synth programming ;)

I still would like to know if I'm going to have to buy extra soundsets in order to gain full access to all of Electrax's functionality.

Now that you mention it this does look very much like something designed by Scott Kane..............

I think re_mute was being sarcastic........ :P

I don't know if there will be expansions just like for Gladiator. By the way the answer to your question is no. ElectraX functionality (the features listed in the product description) are all available on the synth (I think it's pretty clear :hihi:).

It's a bit polemic but you have what you pay for, just like for Gladiator. Any expansion is an extra feature, not something that has been denied to the customer.

Concerning possible ElectraX expansion this is up to Tone2, I'm not aware of these details.

So, WYSIWYG: Thanks for confirming, MaxSynths! Appreciated!

I'm looking forward to some compelling audio demos!

17 pages and no audio demos anywhere.

I therefore conclude that this plugin produces no audio.

Since this was not the case with any previous Tone2 products I'm wondering what gives you this idea...

From the Tone 2 website (ref: Gladiator 2.2):

'Gladiator 2 ships with an inspiring library of 1105 outstanding presets from top sound designers. Besides that a variety of expansion banks is available to further expand Gladiator's features and preset library. All sounds are arranged into categories for easy access to the sound you require.'

Some of the features are 'locked' (in Gladiator 2.2, at least) until you install the expansion banks.

I bought Gladiator 2.2 w/the Electronic Expansion; then purchased the 'State Of The Art Expansion' separately to unlock the rest of Gladiator 2.2's features.

And? These are paid updgrades. What do you consider worth mentioning about them?

I can't imagine that you have never been coming across paid upgrades on other products in the past so I have to assume you're just attempting to be controversial for the sake of it.

That's called 'trolling' b.t.w. .

LOL! :hihi:

We have a difference in perspective on several things, me thinks.

Oh, well.
