Thanks for the quick reply! The browsing feature seems a little quirky to me but also helps a lot that I understand how it works now. I did have it in sf2 mode but it still doesn't see the folder where my other sf's are at for some reason when all the other sf2 players can...weird. Anyway, I do like it, and maybe some of these little browsing things could be looked into on another release. Thanks again!

Are some special / strange characters in those folders or something? I tested it here with various folders and stuff, even with 1000 files in one folder and stuff like that... everything worksb4serenity wrote:Thanks for the quick reply! But glad you like Phenome

I can't see anything different about the folders so I just don't know why the browser can't see them.
When I move the files to the Phenomedata directory it shows all the sf's on the right side of the program GUI but lists some with .sf2 extensions and others without, and won't play those even though they're listed in the GUI with the others. In my folders on the computer they show them all to be .sf2 files so I'm not sure what the confusion is on certain sf's.
Thanks again for such a quick reply! Do you ever sleep?!!

Mhh, still perplexed why you're experiencing trouble with your SF2. Care to send a screenshot or something? From the Browser, some of the folders and stuff like that? Are you on Vista? Win7?

twould be nice if it defaulted to "sf2". i keep forgetting it's on "preset" and have to navigate all the way back to my sf2 folder. it'd be nice if we could set a default sf2 directory. it's a long trudge to my sf2 folder. twould also be nice if we could set our desktop location as that's where i throw sf2 i want to test. i guess having the old browser and the new browser would be too muchb4serenity wrote:The browsing feature seems a little quirky

Am I missing something? Do we always have to set the paths for the soundfonts and preset locations? It would be a lot better if Phenome could save these settings upon changing the directory, this way you're always have access to the last location.

...or perhaps it would be even better if its just ONE browser for both the SF2 files and the *.PHE-presets? What you think?androidlove wrote:twould be nice if it defaulted to "sf2". i keep forgetting it's on "preset" and have to navigate all the way back to my sf2 folder. it'd be nice if we could set a default sf2 directory. it's a long trudge to my sf2 folder. twould also be nice if we could set our desktop location as that's where i throw sf2 i want to test. i guess having the old browser and the new browser would be too muchb4serenity wrote:The browsing feature seems a little quirky

Or two smaller browsers side-by-side? Left SF2, right PHE?
When you (+re)-load a new instance of Phenome then the answer is yes, currentlyjobromedia wrote:Am I missing something? Do we always have to set the paths for the soundfonts and preset locations? All very minor, and don't know if it's mentioned before, but when clicking in the browser when there are more than one page of sf2's listed, the highlighted one jumps to be the last in the page, like this: (it's the same going back up a level)

I also wish there would be a way to see which folder I was browsing in. Maybe the path could be shown in the square lower right?
And I also wish the presets (and other params) could be selected by just rolling the mouse wheel over the box.

Has already been noted, will come in one of the next updates! Thanks for the heads up.V'ger wrote:All very minor, and don't know if it's mentioned before, but when clicking in the browser when there are more than one page of sf2's listed, the highlighted one jumps to be the last in the page, like this: (it's the same going back up a level)

Excellent Idea, will add a field where you can in which directory you are currently!
You can use the mousewheel to scroll in the Browser! Just make sure its in focus

Cheers.
Very nice to have mousewheel working in the browser, but what I miss is to have it for the presets in the main window also (in addition to the click and select from a list option like it is now). But this is a very minor thing so feel free to ignore the request..

Ok.
Last question and then I'll shut up, but is Direct From Disk (DFD) considered implemented at all?

Currently not, but that *might* come in the future... but don't expect it soon!V'ger wrote:Ok.

(But since most Soundfonts are quite small in size compared to other big libraries i guess this shouldn't be a big deal, no?)

Generally yes, but I have some soundfont files of a few hundred MB, and when they + others are loaded in many slots + other vsts the DAW will crash when I guess memory runs out (XP 32).sonicfire wrote:(But since most Soundfonts are quite small in size compared to other big libraries i guess this shouldn't be a big deal, no?)
I also have Maestro Grand converted from GIGA which is almost 1 GB soundfont that will not load in anything except SFZ+ set to DFD.
