@ inlays
I am going to have to live with the Ibanez MTM Mick Thompson sig 'SEVEN' inlays but i now that. I would prefer not to but the axe is so nice and the cheaper option is not the same
Would prefer a few dots though anyday

Ibanez g.a.s. drool I have it, I hang on the forums to catch glimpses of all the killer models.
@seven: I didn't know you actually had one, I remember you talking about getting one.

Fwiw, I always was amazed at the craftsmanship and perfection in detail that went into the 2670 / 2671 / 2681 models by Ibanez.
There were more, but those were the stunners.
Very good and unique sounding too, but a bit on the heavy side due to the ash body, especially the 2670 Double.

Check out the carved top, the abalone inlays - a work of art, literally made for your next punk gig at the "Second Hand Beer Emporium".
Lol,
susiwong
Gotta see one in person, the pictures don't really do it justice.
I swear I'll find me one of these - one lucky day, probably a single neck ...

Paul Gilbert probably has them and doubt he would sell an Ibanez. Seriously that guy's collection of Ibanez guitars is crazy! Not as bad as Keiffer Sutherland's collection of Gibson's but at least Gilbert plays the damned thingstrimph1 wrote:Now you got me lusting after these!!susiwong wrote:Fwiw, I always was amazed at the craftsmanship and perfection in detail that went into the 2670 / 2671 / 2681 models by Ibanez.![]()

The only guys I ever saw using one of these beauties were Bob Weir (single neck) and one of America's guitar players (Buckley ? Beckley ?) with a double neck.NEKRO.MACHINE wrote:Paul Gilbert probably has them and doubt he would sell an Ibanez. Seriously that guy's collection of Ibanez guitars is crazy! They only built a few, though occasionally one is for sale.
The standard model without the tree-of-life would suit me just fine, I'm after the wood combination and the carved body mostly, the expensive visuals are nice but not really needed. A nice LP Swamp Ash would be an alternative, too.

Btw, did you hear Mel Gibson started collecting Sutherlands lately ?

I wouldn't be a bit surprised if Randy Jackson from Zebra had one

Not a next guitar but an amp question:
Peavey Vypyr modeller amp vs E-mu 0202 USB2 soundcard; for bedroom guitarist purposes (metal, and clean rock sounds). The soundcard is cheaper, and it has more "sounds". Guitar rig, vandal demo, etc. etc.
Opinions, please?

I would say real amp with a couple of decent microphones but it all depends on preference. The Vampyr is a digital pre-amp/solid-state power-amp modelling combo IIRC? So i do not know in all honesty/never tried one out
Dean
Then again if you have no interface to mic the amp up its pointless/extra cash. Also my point about the amp - You do not have to fire up a computer when you simply want to have a play, just an IEC mains and an instrument jack + guitar which is alot quicker than waiting for a computer to boot/load your host and then amp plug-in or standalone amp modeller...etc.
Sorry i can not help more for what it is worth. Someone else (Hink, hibidy and susiwong use both alot so will be able to help you more i reckon)

Try and find a s/h Marshall JMP-1 for less than a Vypyr, this is the real deal and records extremely well DI.
Folks like Billy Gibbons or Maiden have been using it for decades.
Think JCM800/900 ballpark.
With a simple OD / distortion stomp in front it does all types of metal like a champ.
A steal @ around €300 if you ask me.

Good call - i got mine for £200 in good as new nick
(say a Boss SD-1 infront of it as a bargain OD pedal). Very decent setup (maybe a noise gate/suppressor pedal/rack unit if needed and then eventually it is expandable with a poweramp and cab...etc)
