:D

yes, i think it's a fairly employable solution :)

needs a bit of work on patches tho!! *wink*

where's harm visser when he's selling his own patches??

Huhu :) Great plugin!

I have made you 15 presets:

-> 11 Guitar-sounds
(You should probably correct the volume on the 1st-one, i couldnt find a knob for main volume, just the "amp"-slider, you could also rename them in a more fitting way)

-> 1 "Monstrous"-patch-thing

-> 3 Ambient experimental patches which i named "Mini-pling" and "Randomly bowed and plucked" :P

Most of this presets are done the way i like them so they have pretty much "release", just set the release slider for less reverbing.

I didn't use any of your guitars as basic, i started out on something named like "woodenspiel", and just played arround form there on.
Hope you can use some, i do :)

Here is a audio demo witch shows most of the presets being played for a short time
(i'm NOT a guitar player so be warned! Added an some reverb):

(i love the Randomly bowed and plucked-2 preset the most, which you can hear at the very end of the demo!)

Here are the presets, not shure if they are the right format? I just copied them out of the cubase vst3presets-folder:

wow ! these sound awesome MA-Simon !

I couldn't open the patches on my end though,
my hosts only recognize .fxb or fxp,
but I can't wait to try them, well done ! :D

Thanks :) Sorry about the file format, i just don't know how to get the sounds out of cubase 5 (i have a win 7 pc).

Here is another quick done track featuring 2 of my presets:

I added a little bit of ambient percussion, but just very-very little
(you probrably wont hear at all...)

i'm being frenetically meowed at atm and can't think of the word i want to use to describe it, it's a good word though :p :) sort of like watching weird plants blossom.

i believe there's a s/w that converts .vstpreset to .fxp.. it's baffling why steinberg would develop the .fxp format then abandon it, like the old days when logic used it's own format for preset patches :? thank you preemptively, they sound great in the demo :)

ftr to prospective users, "the way to use it" is to use multiple instances for higher strings.. load the same patch, open up the damping and reduce the stiffness, which will hopefully sound like a higher string on the same instrument without sounding funky.

there's an .exe that's supposed to convert, i'm not sure if it works as the .vstpreset files are converted to .fxb not .fxp, so i don't know which patch was edited and if it's loaded properly :/ i can't take care of it now so i'll have to look more into it later.

i cannot believe it :p

anyway, thanks simon - those patches have the qualities i was hoping for. hopefully i can open the files! :)

that didn't work for me,
it did create new files,
but the fxb's all sound alike,
only some of them seem to sound less alike than others :P

& wow, I didn't know about that Steinberg EPIC FAIL :o
Funny to see the rest of the world use Steinberg's standard ... just about everyone ... but NOT Steinberg?!!? Now THAT's what clowns are made of!
from this thread :

I hope that fxtractor will work for someone,
or did Steinberg manage to make it inefficient with recent updates of their VST3 format ?

i'm not a big fan of acoustic/physical emulation
but this pling4 is excellent and the MS-Simon mp3 cool :)

ONE 'voice' of the model (excluding picking impulse architecture and modulation) uses 0.85% of my 1.6g processor!!!!!! (with 2nd order allpass)

that's about 1/3 of pling3 and it's why i keep at it - physical modeling has tremendous opportunity for emulative solutions when the requisite fields of knowledge are brought together.

in application, pling4 could be more realistic without microsequencing - use a slight mididelay to delay notes to pling4 and use subtractive synthesis to create pick scrape noises if you want an acoustic performance.. in practice, commuted modeling (A running into B as opposed to being coupled) can be very convincing for body resonance emulation and would probably be useful for modeling electrics too (i model the pickups using an eq.. cut highs, one boos in the low-mids and one in the high-mids). and remember that due to the low cpu, using other instances for higher strings sounds better and works better due to the ability to play legato on multiple channels.

thank you to everyone for listening :) now my task is to get this thing used by enough people so that when a newbie wants a guitar sound, people actually mention it (and revitar).
