I gave you mine from start(even before your posts). Great reverb, I use it all the time on my jobs.Galbanum wrote:We are honored to find out that Aether is nominated for the 2010 Sound On Sound Annual Awards in the "Plug-in: Effects" category:

Is 2C's Aether REALLY worth it? (the answer is: yes, certainly)

Sorry if this question has been answered before, I lost track of this thread somewhere around 15 of the 59 pages.
Aether has nice reverbs for sure, I'd like to really like it.
I'm sure Aether offers great control for the advanced user, but compared to other reverbs I've tried I find its GUI hard to get around and understand, as soon as you need more control than just switching presets.
A lot of the controls and knobs I really have no idea what they are doing. And a look in the manual doesn't make me see the light.
Is there an easy mode on its way for this plugin? Or an in depth video tutorial, perhaps? (Video tutorials have been mentioned before, but I haven't seen any yet.)

Hi,
Yes we hope to make a video tutorial at some point. No ETA yet.
If you ask some specif questions here, maybe I can help explain to you... I'm happy to help.
The browser page is also designed to be the Easy Mode page.
After that, using the Space Types and the Frequency Profiles are the next step.
Once you've mastered these then you can start to make your own presets completely from scratch if you are so inclined.
We tried to make the GUI/concept "layered" so that you can go just as deep (or shallow) as you like.
Check out the "Getting Started" section of the manual for more details.

No. Aether is available as a 64bit native VST plug for Windows. Has been since since version 1.02. The windows installer allows you to install either or both the 32bit and/or the 64bit VST plug.Stomper wrote:I just moved to new pc with win7 64bit.

The RTAS plug is 32bit at the moment.
The AU plug and OSX VST plug are 32bit at the moment, b/c Apple makes it hard to support 64bit plugs, by forcing people to use objective-C and Cocoa for 64-bit GUIs. That will come later, but it is a bunch of work for us, since we do not use a third party development library such a Juce, which other developers may use. (We may hire someone to help with this, in case anyone interested is reading this...)
So to summarize: Yes VST on Win7 64bit, is available as 64bit native!

Juce does make the 32/64 bit versions easier to create. I had a bit of a learning curve when creating the AU 64 bit port of my latest plugin, but once I ironed out all the details in the project it was fairly easy. No changes were needed to the main plugin code or the GUI code.Galbanum wrote: The AU plug and OSX VST plug are 32bit at the moment, b/c Apple makes it hard to support 64bit plugs, by forcing people to use objective-C and Cocoa for 64-bit GUIs. Juce generates both Carbon and Cocoa code. The Carbon code is still in there for dealing with Ableton Live, although that may not be necessarily with the latest version of Live.
However, there may be an easier way of getting 64-bit AUs running than porting all of your code to Juce. It has taken me a few years to know my way around the library, and I tend towards minimal GUIs. Juce is kind of the opposite of VST GUI - instead of a relative handful of poorly documented classes, there are a TON of Juce classes to learn.

Hi what's the latest on 64 bit Mac support? Should we expect it any time soon?

+1 for 64 bit AU support. I have since switched to u-he Aether for my reverb use. No fault of Galbanum, but the 32-bit bridge is too unstable for my uses. Aether is gathering dust at the moment.
