I installed 1.64 but when I try to pull up a factory preset an error box pops up. It has "Error: SF2 File not found!" at the top of the box and in the box it says; "C:\Phenome Data\C:\Phenome Data\Factory\_Soundfonts\FDanceKitA.sf2"

I can load my own SFs and even load the SF's from your Factory Library within the SF section of Phenome Data. But, I just can't load the presets, and yes I'm pressing presets at the top of the browser box on the right before searching for the presets. I can navigate to the presets but I get the error above when I try to load any of them.

I have the Phenome Data in c:\Phenome Data and all the info is in there. It used to work w/ the previous version so I don't know what the problem is. Any ideas?

thanks!

Yep same here, I have the Phenome Data in G:\Bank\Library\PhenomeData; and when i load a preset the error box refer to "G:\Bank\Library\PhenomeData\C:\Phenome Data\Factory\_Soundfonts\Bell2.sf2"...

My config text file:
G:\Bank\Library\PhenomeData;
G:\Bank\Library\PhenomeData\Factory A\_Soundfonts;

Hope that help you Dennis.

Thanks for letting me know, folks.
Guess i made a mistake in the Phenome DLL Installer.

Could you please make it look like: (example)

c:\program files\myvsthost\vstplugins\phenome <-- with files and config.txt in it
c:\program files\myvsthost\vstplugins\phenome.dll (so that the DLL isn't inside the phenome folder no more).

Could be that there is a second phenome folder inside the phenome plugin folder.
Erase the second one and move the DLL one "folder back". Like in the above example.

Please let me know and sorry for trouble :)

I just noticed i had a little Bug in the Phenome-Installer.
The Phenome Subpath wasn't created properly so to say. Fixed now! :-)

I can confirm that. when I installed the 1.64 update yesterday it did that. Moved it and it worked fine.

I had the other versions working before but for some reason I can't get 1.64 to work right!

Well, I did everything mentioned above and it still has the same problem so I had uninstalled everything, downloaded the "new" installer version from your website (I know it's different as the file size is slightly larger than the old one), reinstalled everything, but I still get the same error message box mentioned above when trying to load the presets. The Phenome file with all the files in it are in my c:\Program Files\Steinberg\VstPlugins folder, except for the Phenome.dll file which is by itself in the ...vstplugins folder. I've never had issues like this with my other vst plugins (I have quite a few...too many in fact!) so I just don't know what's wrong.

Is there a way to install it w/o the installer program? any other ideas? Thanks for your help!!

Oh you mean the Phenome files are in the vstplugins folder? They should be in a "phenome" folder, like this: (example)

Code: Select all

c:\program files\myhost\vstplugins\phenome <- folder with files & config.txt
c:\program files\myhost\vstplugins\phenome.dll (outside phenome folder)
That's the way it *should* look after install to your vstplugins folder :)

Did i miss something? Is the installer still faulty somehow? If so, i will propably release just a RAR archive with the files, so the user copies it itself ...

Like I said..."The Phenome file with all the files in it are in my c:\Program Files\Steinberg\VstPlugins folder, except for the Phenome.dll file which is by itself in the ...vstplugins folder." I guess I could have said the Phenome file folder

So yes, it looks exactly as you just wrote.

Can you make the files available to just put in the proper directories? Or, can you think of any other reason it won't work? Thanks again.

hi Dennis and all,

doesn't work here too. Perhaps I've not done things correctly.

Phenome.ddl is in my vsti folder, beside the Phenome folder with all your stuff inside and the config.txt.
These are in a folder called Phenome1.64 under my vsti folder.

The sounds and presets are on another hard drive, where I put all my sound banks.

The changes are done in the config.txt as is:
G:\PhenomeData;
G:\PhenomeData\Factory\_Soundfonts;

Is that right ?

thanx
Phil

Ok, i see. I just checked it again. The Phenome DLL alone should be enough, so no need for an installer here. Simply copy the Phenome.dll to your vstplugins folder and done. (Dont use an extra directory).

When you first launch Phenome, a / the Phenome folder will be created automatically (with config.txt) in it. Restart. Change config.txt first line to where you've installed your PhenomeData folder :)
The second line is reserved for future use (had a "favourite" folder for SF2's in mind). Currently, it won't be read out... sorry, should have make this clearer :oops:

Just make sure you have only one Phenome folder in your vstplugins directory (the one with files and config.txt) and the Phenome.dll outside this folder. (Directly in vstplugins).

When you have Phenome folder+DLL in a Phenome1.64 folder, things will be doubled :) (Two config files).

Sorry for the mess :D Hope this clears it up now! Will overwork my installer / release only a "phenome.dll" RAR archive :)
