I'm glad that finally people could try PPG Wave 3.v themselves. That saves me and others (e.g Rob, DocT) some endless and/or subjective talks... :D

BTW i doubt that people could learn all possible tricks of the synth in 100 hours. They have to buy it to learn more... :hihi:

Not had a chance with my own samples Rob but there is so much in here with others to manipulate.

penquinfromdeep...lots of adjectives....vulgar, rude to downright pornographic....cone blowing to tweeter screaming, on the other side of the coin it's ephemeral, delicate, beautiful resonances with wiffs of aliasing dirt and saturation passing by my ears....it has a very distinctive electronic character of course and always has, yes the choirs, pads and bells are classics but dig in your self and the synthetics/sonics the PPG 3 can conjure are magical, it also throbs and pulses in the most engaging way.It really has a vibe to it which is edgy, menacing, growling, like its just about to get out of control and will if you let it.Its a joy having this amount of energy under your finger tips.To be blunt it can go from gentleman to thug...a real Jekyll and Hyde.

For what its worth imho...I have always been a Waldorf user since Microwave 1.I still have my XT, Blofeld and Largo which are all superb but I have to say I think Waldorf and Co have outdone themselves with PPG Wave 3V....the others are all lovely instruments and they wont be going anywhere but after playing with the PPG 3 I would take it 1st if I had to choose one, but then that's only my preference.

I thought it was 100 days. It says 100h in the elicenser but during the install it said 100 days or over 8,000 hours. :?

Sounds absolutely amazing though!

In case you have problems with the demo installation, here are some hints:

- please make sure to have full adiministrator rights when installing the PPG Wave 3.V
- on some Macs the AU version can't installed properly, please restart your computer before installation
- you have to authorize the plug-in before use, here is the explanation how to do:

PPG Wave 3.V uses a software based copy protection called eLicenser. PPG Wave 3.V can only run with an activated license.
Independent of installing the PPG Wave 3.V on a Mac or Windows computer you will need to activate the software.
You need to have administrator rights to install and authorize PPG Wave 3.V. If your current user account doesn't have administrator rights, please quit the installer, log in as user with administrator rights and start the installer again.
1. After successful installation of the PPG Wave 3.V plug- in the eLicenser Control Center application will start automatically. If not, please start it manually. eLicenser Control Center can be found within your Application
folder.
2. In the application windows please choose the option "Enter Activation Code".
3. Enter the demo activation code that was send to your email adress. Confirm it and follow the instructions.
4. You can download your final demo activation as software license (SeL) or directly to a connected optional eLicenser USB Key (e.g. Steinberg Key).

PPG Wave 3.V is copy-protected by the Soft eLicenser Copy Protection. You do not need an USB key to authorize PPG Wave 3.V on a particular computer. However, we strongly recommend to transfer the PPG Wave 3.V license to an eLicenser USB Key (i.e. from Steinberg or eLicenser) during or after activation. If you want to upgrade your operating system software or exchange any hardware system component make sure to transfer your soft eLicense to an optional eLicenser USB Key before. Otherweise your soft license will be gone forever.

I'll start a commercial soundset sometimes this week... :)

It will contain new samples for sure. For that i'll use some others synths like e.g. Alchemy. I just had a look into the spectral synthesis.

Here is a demo of one of my Wavestation samples from the PPG Wave 3.V factory content used in Alchemy (with the Spectral editor...):

http://rapidshare.com/files/432230271/W ... tral_1.zip

The first file is the original sample imported into the Spectral engine of Alchemy, in the second the spectral content is changed.

This was just a test, the samples in the final bank are different i guess. Maybe i'll provide some samples which are based on my PPG 3.V factory content as a free download or with the next official update.

PS:
i'll not provide an Alchemy bank for the sounds i do for the samples. This will be exclusive sample content for PPG Wave 3.V (and the Blofeld maybe).

I see a lot of sounds suitable for IDM music. I'm impressed. But it can take a lot of time to expolore it i noticed. Sounds very good. Presets are top notch!

Can't stop playing with DocT preset Persuader. Soon i get Rob sounds.
