+1 -- just to totally agree. It'll be freakin' PERFECT with "quick & easy" (cheap & sleazy? :hihi:) wavetable creation.

:D
+1 mate, couldnt agree more! :)

Got more info about this from Wolfram.. It seems it's an old Carbon/Cocoa bug and happens also for example in Safari etc.. It cannot be get rid of completely but some workarounds have been implemented in PPG 3.
circuit modeling and 0-dfb filters are cool

You should better take a look into the PPG Wave 3.V manual which was installed as a PDF.
Allright, I was looking manual from website but did not found it. Apparently it is on PPG Wave isnstall directory. Something for reading tonight, thanks.

I believe it's related to how the synth is programmed relating to note on/off and note priority, only happening with mono-single poly mode presets.
To understand this problem further you could visit this thread and read.

Hi mcnoone,

downloaded your MIDI file, dropped it into a sequencer and immediately saw the problem: hundreds of ghost notes. Don't know what you did to create them but that's not going to work with the PPG Wave 3.V. A little history: the PPG Wave 2.2 and 2.3 don't have a real "mono" mode, they only offered to assign more than one voice (2, 4 or 8) to one pressed key but they never remembered previously pressed keys or had a certain note priority scheme like e.g. the Minimoog with its low note priority. And, for sure, the PPG Wave 3.V mimics this since it's meant to emulate the original hardware machines. So, just don't play the PPG this way (this sentence could be from Steve Jobs).

And, btw: I've fixed the spinning beach ball problem in Live. Live does some very awful things when changing a program on an Audio Unit and I've implemented a workaround (which also has positive influence in GarageBand and Logic). Until this version is released, please use the VST variant (which I recommend anyway in hosts that support VST since it has far less administrative overhead).

May I add that if you have problems, either contact Tsching or me directly rather than reporting bugs here. I'm just lurking here to read how people like the PPG Wave 3.V.

Best wishes and a lot of fun,

Wolfram

I think they like it Wolfram :D

Hi i have installed PPG no problem. But i am getting a crackling sound when ever i play any note any preset. I have my latency set at 100ms on an EMU 12/12m same thing happens with Kore audio. I can reproduce this distortion in PPG no other plugins are doing it. I am using Buzz tracker Win Xp sp3 3 gig quad core intel. PPG is only hitting 3-4% :help:

Hey Andy,

Not on a Mac *can't afford one* :D but on my W7 x64 system the PPG v3 is totally fantastic..I hope you Mac guys get sorted soon.

Well Done Waldorf for this and of course the man himself Wolfgang Palm who was always at hand with how things should be done during beta/sound design. :)

Best

Same here on Windows 7 32-bit. No problems with the latest version.

I totally agree. Wolfgang is really a nice person (and Wolfram too BTW...) and an inspiration too.
His work on the PPG 3.V (technical hints, wavetables, samples, factory sounds, demos...) speaks for itself i guess. :)

A bogus for me. Nothing. Nada. Look at screenshot. Obviously my time and zone are just fine.

That's the last time i am trying this "e-licenser thing". I've never had any issues with syncrosoft usb dongle but this is different.

I enter license code, i am at download license window, i press "download license" and i get this error. Oh boy..

Hi kmonkey,

I'm a bit puzzled. Did you try restarting your computer and activating the PPG Wave 3.V again? If that doesn't help, let me know, since then I have to contact the eLicenser guys to suggest a solution for the problem.

Sorry for the problems and best wishes,

Wolfram

Heard that as well, one other customer reported that. Solution:

* Go to http://elicenser.net
* Download the latest eLicenser installer (caution: that one doesn't work on your PPC Mac anymore) *1
* Install that package
* Install the PPG Wave 3.V again afterwards to make sure that a so-called Soft eLicenser is created.

*1: Regarding your PowerPC Mac: since I don't know exactly why the postflight script fails (it is written by the eLicenser people and performs the installation of the eLCC stuff) and the eLCC package we use in the PPG installer is the **very last to support PPC Macs** you are on your own here. You can't install the latest package from elicenser.net. You can only try to find out why the postflight script fails, i.e. by checking access permissions with disk utility or the like. If this all doesn't help, drop me a mail directly on wmf @ (our domain name) and we try to find out what happens exactly.

Good luck and sorry for the inconvenience!

Wolfram
Understood.
Although I have tried (demoed) some other (names not mentioned) emulations of old synths that do not have this note priority problem.
Those would be the ones I would most likely buy.
The ones with the note problems while playing a certain way, are the ones I will not buy. Others may feel the same.
Emulations are better "without" including the original synths weakest points.
I would suggest making a change regarding note priorities, as it would be an improvement that would not hurt the integrity of the original in any way.
