Today's recording session with the french horn player went really well, we collected about an hour of great sounds, including drones with a custom made wawa mute (horn players usually don't use such things) which have beautiful transitions of overtones, great for resynthing in Alchemy as first experiments proved. The Cello player is coming on Saturday, then I'll be hitting the finish line within 2 weeks I guess.

I gotta say man, these demos are some of the nicest sounds I've heard done with Alchemy. Well done. I told myself I would not buy anymore packs as I prefer making stuff myself with it, but these are quite beautiful.

Thank's for the flowers, Echoes in the Attic - I like that username btw, much more poetic than Sampleconstruct :)

I totally agree with Echoes in the Attic, but Simon, take your time, you are working too hard!

I'm fine, thank's Ben - a project this size creates it's own momentum which I have to follow somehow - 100 patches and all that sampling is quite a mountain to climb and it's great fun too.

Before getting to the Horn patches today I had to finish this patch here, made from/with piano samples, plucking the very high strings inside of my upright piano.

pre-ordered this set a couple of weeks ago after purchasing Simon's lovely Metaphysical Function sound bank. Alchemy is one of my favourite synths and this is shaping up to be a wonderful collection of sounds. Keep up the good work Simon!!

Here comes a demo of the first big French Horn patch, including 17 multisamples played with wawa mute spread over the keys, playing in Granular and normal sampling mode as well as 2 resynthed wawa samples in source C+D. Heaps of modulation possibilities. In the demo I morph between most of the available snaps. Alchemy simply amazes me every day...

This is a rather cinematic demo for the patch Horn Spacious Calls

All great stuff again. I could see every one of these patches being very usable.

Thank you...

Today I collected about 70 minutes of great Cello material played by the argentinian cellist Martin Iannaccone, will post some first demos tomorrow. I could make 3 Soundbanks out of all this stuff...

I can only echo Echo's sentiments

after listening to all of the demos,
this seems to evolve into some really great stuff for Alchemy.
(Well, the stuff I like to hear with Alchemy that is...)

And I'm pleased that Simon gave his OK to include my (upcoming)
conversion to koresounds for this soundset as a bonus
(for those who have both the full version of Alchemy and Kore,
continuing my addiction to both apps like I did with Camel's add-ons).

I was allready impressed by Simon's Absynth sounds, creating otherwordly
scapes from ordinary sources and instruments...
And now it carries on with Alchemy.

Curious about the new Cello patches...

OK, enough flowers, just my 2 cents 8)

Cheers
