The peavey Ampkit is in the app store for all you iphoners
It sounds pretty good (i'm using irig input) and there are quite a lot of add-ons/options (a little expensive tho- $6 for extra mp head/cab combo's)
(Does it sound as good/better than amplitube's? I'll let you be the judge- but i like it and you can never have too many varieties! )
There's a free version without much in it but probably worth checking first
Watch your ears as some settings get mighty feedback thru headphones
(at least using the irig -there is a feedback supress button..
n.b-luckily it doesn't seem to feedback thru speakers in the same way)
just letting you know..

(bring on the iphone hate :hihi: )

I'm using the iRig/AmpKit+ combination on an old iPod Touch I found laying around. In fact, I've been gigging with it lately, and it sounds GREAT.

I get to leave the computer rig and guitar amps at home. :D

I haven't had any of the feedback issues discussed, even on high-gain models/settings. And I'm not getting much noise on high-gain, even with the noise gate turned off, and I'm getting no perceptible noise on clean channels.

Overall, this has been a winning combo for me, even though the iRig hardware and the AmpKit+ app aren't "made for each other". ;)
