I've just bought Angelina and I'm so glad that I've finally joined the Big Tick family.

I loved the demo and I love it even more now I've registered it. 'Tick, I know you were a bit depressed about the download numbers of freebies vs your commercial products, but please, don't be.

I have got to say that the fact that you offer such high quality freeware meant that I was able to become confident with VSTis and was able to learn the basics. Now that I'm happier within myself about my ability to actually use anything I buy, I'm slowly repaying all those devs who offered free quality products.

Thank you for Cheeze Machine. Thank you for Ticky Clav. Thank you for mabento and hexaline. Most of all, thank you for Angelina :D

Now, who's got some little programming tips for Angelina they'd like to share?

the biggest hint I have for Angelina sound design is that the three envelopes can be applied independently. This is the method for getting that truly layered sound.

someone else will have to take on the task of explaining the formant morphing.

but back to that layering. I think Angelina is about the only 3 oscillator (2 and breath) synth where it's possible to really get a layered interaction because of independent oscs and independent envelopes. so that's something i explore a lot in fooling with Angelina.

and that layering and interaction is one of the things that keeps me coming back to rhino as well. it may have always been a feature of 6 operator fm synthesis to dedicate a few operators to the attack portion or the sustain portion, but i really think rhino and its talented sound designers have really taken this all a step further and maybe further yet with the coming version.
