Hold your hosses, there will be an upgrade path. Scroll down to Ingonators post.DrGonzo wrote:In all honesty, I'm not that impressed by it either - and the idea that you have to insert a high-quality limiter after it to make it shine - sounds like fanboy talk to me. Heck, I can get anything sound good with some quality outboard.
To be fair, I haven't been digging deep into it and I will. I will read the manual and start mangling it on my own and see what kind of stuff comes out. I am sure I'll be impressed in a way or two.
But I can't understand why there's no bloody riot going on here. I mean... herro?? This is KvR!
Some personal moaning here, but hell yeah. It makes me irritated, and I do feel I have the right to be. I have paid twice for the old PPG now - in the form of the plugin package. Once to Steinberg and once again to Waldorf just two months ago, and now they're telling me that I cannot upgrade to version 3 because it's considered a whole new product? Even Steinberg understood that you couldn't charge the whole userbase the full price when they released Cubase SX - which basically was a rewrite.
Grumpy.
One of the devs confirmed as well but i didn't go through all the pages to find it. So you turn that frown upside down!

Waldorf says that the PPG WAve 3.V is considered a "seperate product" from Waldorf Edition. So "no go" on a upgrade path...
This is not true. There will be a discount for existing Waldorf Edition customers. Watch our shop on http://www.waldorfmusic-shop.de beginning of December.
And try out the 100 hour evaluation.
Best wishes,
Wolfram

It is a drag to program a multisample patch. Does anyone have some quick tips?

For a multisample you have to use the multimode with key zones etc. and set the Midi channel to the same values. You could save the current multi setup with a fxb file.frankvg wrote:It is a drag to program a multisample patch. Does anyone have some quick tips?

There is no other tip except using the multimode, sorry...frankvg wrote:no quick tips then....
You could use 8 copies of the same patch and just change the sample. Then you map the keyzones etc. with the settings in the multimode. If you are finished you save the 8 patches and the multi setup as an fxb file. This is the only way to save a multi setup and/or a mulisample. There should be at least one or more examples in the factory sounds for this.

i'm confused: you can load waves, but there is no wavetable editor? i had a Microwave II but could not get a editor to work with it, and i own Kubik...what exactly can one do and not do with the PPG as far as user waves? i'd try myself but it's taking a very long time to d/l the vst so i'm curious if i should cancel...
thanks...
thanks...

Aaaaaaah, please not the editor thing again. There was almost a whole thread about this and NO, at V1.0 there is no wavetable editor.Chuck E. BTW did anyone notice that there are 120 wavetables now?? Try those first, load a sample from the Waveterm library or use your own samples...

I can understand the confusion, though!
Right now, what's "built-in" is what you have, so no wavetable-editing (which is a pretty hefty task for "doing it right" anyway
And then, of course, add your own samples (er, "transients") and run 'em through the PPG Wave "system" for added fun!!!

Why not. Maybe Waldorf noted what the users want
