Tone2 ElectraX - simply Unlimited!

We are pleased to present our new sonic warrior: ElectraX!

ElectraX means not only having four powerful synthesizers in one interface - it's the next generation of high-end audio equipment.

Explore the vast musical universe of multi-synthesis oscillators, analog modeled filters, chaotic fractals, samples, psychoacoustic processing, flexible modulation and an immense sonic range.
Combine multiple polyphonic or monophonic synthesizers and 13 different synthesis methods to create incredible results.
All this comes with an easy-to-use interface, high-end sound quality and remarkable low CPU usage for an instrument as feature-rich as ElectraX.
The comfortable preset management provides instant access to a large library of sounds by professional designers.

Image

Oscillators

At the heart of ElectraX are the multi-synthesis oscillators with up to 18 oscillators per voice. With ElectraX you combine classic synthesis types like Virtual Analog, FM, Phase Distortion, Ultrasaw, Sync, Waveshaping, Wavetables, AM, and completely new oscillator types. It also opens unheard acoustic possibilities with its exclusive Fractal synthesis, which can be used to mimic the behaviour of organisms or analog circuits.

Image

Samples and Wavetables

You can use ElectraX' sample oscillator to import your own waves, a quick import option is available to create custom patches or vocoder sounds based on your own samples with a mouse click.
ElectraX ships with a large selection of licensed wave content, including morphable analog and digital wave types.
In addition to this you can automatically resynthesize your own waveforms from samples or import custom wavetables.

Image

Filters

Each synth's filter section consists of two multi-mode filters with 23 unique filter types and multi-mode distortion.
ElectraX comes with excellent analog modeled filters, high precision digital filters, vocal filters, comb filters, phasers, equalizers and other exotic types.
The warm sounding filters are able to self oscillate and deliver a wide range of timbres due to the variable degree of analog behavior.
A dual distortion unit offers six different modes. It can produce tube sound ,known from analog pre-amp boxes, model a fuzzbox or do waveshaping

Image

Effects

ElectraX' master and insert effects sections include 18 high quality effect processor, built and fine-tuned specifically to compliment the synth's sound such as: High-end Reverb, Multitap Delay, Vocoder, Chorus, Ensemble, Phaser, Flanger, Rotary, Surround encoder, Trancegate,...

Image

Modulation

ElectraX' modulation makes use of punchy, analog sounding envelopes. Its high quality LFOs are syncable to BPM and can modulate up to the audible range. You can create rhythmic sequences or custom wave shapes with the step LFO.
The flexible Modulation Matrix is easy-to-use and provides a good and instant overview of the active modulations.
With the built-in 'midi-learn' feature it is possible to assign controllers with a single click.

Image

Arpeggiator

One preset setup can handle up to four full featured synthesizers with four independent arpeggiators and step sequencers. The arpeggiator supports autochord, swing, glide and keyboard splitting. This allows you to create impressive sequences with several instruments playing at the same time, providing a creative and hands-on experience for a life performance.

Congratulations! Looking forward to see some of the reactions. :)

This is the first synth I've been interested in since Omnisphere and Alchemy.

Looks superb :)

Hi Markus, i'm interested in buying ElectraX right now! an i mean right now :hihi: , i'm a member on Tone2 + currently own Firebird. i havent received a newletter.. iam right to think there was a small discount for current customers..upon receiving a newsletter ?, the discount would go a long ways to me purchasing a.s.a.p . my username on Tone2 is shaunsteffan . Congratulations on the great work ! :hihi:

I never get the newsletter for discounts either because they use Shareit to send them. Problem is, my Shareit details are lost way way back and I have no idea what they are. I have to email every time there is a new release and send my Tone2 licenses to get a discount. I had to do it with Glad 2. You may need to do the same.
Markus, you are more than welcome to PM me to resolve this.

Price is €189

Just what I expected. A little too much for me right now though.

Looks very tempting but at the moment i have several other synths for which i want to programm patches so i'll pass for the moment. I'll try the demo anyway, just downloading. :)

PS:
Still got Firebird+ too...

UPDATE:
Lots of presets in the demo and 36 wavetables to choose from already (in the VA oscillators, don't know about the Wavetable Osc itself). Not bad for the start... :) The PW knob is used to scan through the wavetables for those who didn't recognize (like in Largo/Blofeld BTW).

BTW it looks that what i understand as "Wavetable synthesis" is inside the VA Oscs and that what is called "Wavetables" in ElectraX is based on Resynthesis of samples. The terminology is a bit confusing for me...

Is there a discount for Gladiator owners by the way? I just assumed there was...but I could be wrong. Anyone?

Congrats with the release, will check it out asap. I don't think I've been this excited about a softsynth since ACE.

Lots of presets available in the Demo to show off what it can do. I like that :) Installer is rather large because of this though. I think the used samples are stored in them too, aren't they?

AU not working correctly in Logic. Getting a weird distortion artifact on all playback.

Would like to know this as well. I'm a bit hesitant to get ElectraX, even though the features look nice, due to the way Gladiator 2 was updated with paid features through new "sound banks". Irritating strategy that makes the synth unsuitable as a sound design target (can't know what user has various features).

We'll see how Tone2 does with the updates.

EDIT: well, after testing the demo I had a good chuckle. It's definitely a Tone2 product in all it's glory. Horrendous overly splashy graphics, way WAY overdone bloom and weird 3D "realistic" perspective. Overly processed sound and presets drenched in FX. Demo extremely annoying with a sudden stop of sound after about 10 minutes and a forced jump to their website. I mean.. COME ON!!! Seriously?

Perhaps I'm getting old but doesn't anybody else get a little chuckle out of all this? In finnish we would say "Hiukan meni yliyrittämisen puolelle..". It's like the company has no self confidence at all and has to overdo absolutely everything. More! Bigger! More bright! More FX! More bloom! More 3D!!! MOOOORE!!!! It's like a soap opera where they have finally cranked the saturation to 11 and made the dominating colour red. Yeah, it's warm all right.. and ridiculously, annoyingly processed, but where is the soul? Perhaps it's just me and this just doesn't click with me, at all.

Cheers!

Same for me, as these features were due for the version 1 initially.

Just lost interest and focus

I still think that Firebird+ is the best Tone2 synth.

Q: I havent received a newletter?
A: You should receive our newsletter today. If you didn't get it contact noord[a t]tone2[do t]com. Bastiaan will resend it to you.

Q: Is there a discount for Gladiator owners by the way?
A: You should receive our newsletter today. This email contains a special offer for faithful customers.

Q: Is this synth suitable as a sound design target?
A: Definitely! We have taken a lot of care on this aspect. There are huge possibilities. Custom samples and and wavetables are bundeled with the fxp file. 3rd party developers can even create installers for their soundset. You can create own categories (directories) and manage the content on your harddisc. The plugin automatically detects your pataches and lists them in the preset browser.

Q. Will there be free Gladiator updates?
A: For the coming Gladiator update we already finished this:
- We successfully created a 64-bit version (GladiatorX64.dll) of Gladiator
- We successfully created a standalone version of Gladiator
The update, the 64-bit version and the standalone version will be free for all Gladiator2 users. We planed the update for January.
Beside of that we provided a free resynthesis tool for Gladiator in autumn. You can find it in the 'goodies' section within our forum.

Q: I am a hater or related to a jelous competing developer.
A: Just move on.
